Re: CRS212, "router was rebooted without proper shutdown", igmp-snooping, bug?

Thank you, gard! Your post saved the day, as this was exactly the problem with one of our customer. CRS212 started to "reboot wthout proper shutdown". After extensive diagnostics of power lines and SFP modules, I found your post and got a clue. Indeed, turning on IGMP snooping - with good ...

Re: RIC antenna cover

Yes indeed - the spare cover would be very welcome!

Suggestion to use SEXTANT instead is not serious - there is substantial difference in antenna gain.

Anybody to produce the cover?

Re: 802.11n

this should not be true, all Level4 licenses allow upgrade to v4.xx if they were purchased when v3 was already released. if not, the upgraded key will fix it (when you upgrade to v4beta, it makes a new key, and makes sure that your upgrade times are correct). Well, this is possible only when using ...

Re: Feature request : scsi support

I do not see any sense of supporting SCSI - SCSI can be considered obsolete by now. Last 2 years there has not been any servers with SCSI disks available. It is over. Support for Native SATA (AHCI) and SAS (Serial Attached Storage) however would be very welcome. And some most popular SATA RAID contr...

Re: 3x R5H - Noise floor approx -83 on bench across all channels

I have already some 20 pcs of R5H at production. Noise level of R5H cards needs some explanation indeed. "Frequancy usage" tab gives usually range from -87dBm to -83dBm. However, getting decent connection even at RSSI of -85dBm is still possible. This indicates that the noise reading is fa...

Re: RB433AH overclock instability after 3.14

I would suggest to avoid overclocking. Even it might seem to be working, there may be some instability which is hard to catch. I have had problems with several RB532 booting at highest frequency. If you have link down somewhere, and remote RB are booted by watchdog every 5 minutes, they might freeze...

Re: Mikrotik and logging on routerboards...

Yes indeed you can write to built-in NAND flash disk. However this space is extremely limited and also prone to wearing off. Using added CF or uSD would be desirable. I'm not sure what the question is on this thread, but maybe this simple command will explain how to write the log to the disk. Note t...

Re: Mikrotik and logging on routerboards...

I have no idea about the thing that you are asking. Therefore, you should write an email to mikrotik, instead of waiting 4 months on the forum. I can't help you, so I made a suggestion instead May I propose the solution? That would be option of logging to CompactFlash or microSD memory, both Router...

How to get Dude logging onto CF or microSD ?

How to get Dude logging onto CF or microSD ? Dude server package is running quite smoothly on RB600 or RB433AH, but disk space is very limiting factor. How (or when) would it be possible to use CF or microSD for log files? BTW, it would be very convenient to have RouterOS log files on some bigger st...

Re: RB 532 hangs on boot

Been there, seen that.
This is a very old problem. BIOS version 1.7 and older had this.
Actually everybody should update BIOS regularly, 2.16 is current.

Your RB532 needs factory help now.

Re: Next gen wireless card poll

After some consideration, I feel confident: MMCX - and only one connector is enough! You will have U.Fl cards available from multiple sources, there remains choice for replacements etc But we need something reliable for tower installations etc. Without this diversity switch chip which is so easily f...

Re: Next gen wireless card poll

MMCX + U.Fl combination is best for versatility.

But much more important: unless you plan to introduce diversity, please get rid of the weakest part, the diversity switch (small 12-pin square chip between A and B antenna connectors).
One connector is enough for 99% cases.

Re: proxy cache store device

You are right.
2GB Kingston 133x (Elite Pro, code CF/2GB-S2) works fine.

The bad CF was PQI 4GB 120x HiSpeed.

It would be useful to have page in Wiki with information about tested CF and microSD cards, with table updated by users.

Re: proxy cache store device

Just tried 120x 4GB CF in RB/600 version 3.10 / Bios 2.15 If the CF module is installed, the RB/600 won't boot up, LAN3 socket leds are lit and nothing more happens. The same module was just pulled from RB/532A where it was used as disk for web-proxy, and it has ext2 filesystem on it with all the pr...

Are there any speed or type requirements for microSD?
Can you provide some "tested and good" types?
