mikrotik does not develop p2p filters, I think they use external filters from http://ipp2p.org/ This guy was first to report bitcomet encrypted headers detection.

I feel you are not based on competitive markets - in my country, nobody would even think about placing download/upload ratios, prepaid VOLUME of megabytes/gigabytes etc. Company like this would not exist for two months here. so, I decided to abandon following this thread with "no solution is an...

connection sharing is quite often not allowed: a) cable ISPs have legal conditions - on small cheap programs you can't share, on the most expensive ones you can. Many of them limit this possibility to one property as was said before = you can't legally share with your neighbor. They are loosing mone...

hey guys forget the java stuff, it's nonsense.

Do you know how to find / mark / distinguish / do something with packets that have TTL equal, lower or higher than some threshold? I didn't realize anything.

how to work with TTL ?

> it was something about the TTL of the packets - the number for TTL
> change when the packet pass the router.

yes, this would be relatively easy way how to find "sharers". How can we use this in mikrotik? I didn't find anything in firewall nor mangle.

do another thing : in /ip firewall filter, bind IP and MAC address combination (if IP address x.x.x.x doesn't have MAC y:y:y:y:y:y:y, then drop) and do shaping based on IP address only. This way it should work flawlessly.

may we know what exactly is improved? There's nothing in changelog mentioning this. BTW, may we know the connection tracking table size in version 2.9.8 and later and before 2.9.8 ?

new info : we got pair of 5006X (=5413) chipset cards. Again, the situation is the same : as soon as we enable hardware compression, we get lower throughput. The actual performance hit depends on data pushed thru the link, but generally is around 25-40% compared to "compression=no" setting...

this should be easy: login to this "far away" server from some server or computer which is on the SAME subnet on ethernet as this faraway server - ie. if this is 192.168.0.1, login to it from 192.168.0.2 etc, ADD new IP adress to it, and do: /ip route print set -number-of-default-gateway n...

bug : nstreme-dual broken in 2.9.6 and newer

it works, but when you start pushing data thru it it breaks and stops transmitting/receiving (interface shows as running). Each time you run bandwidth-test, it fails after ten seconds when tries to transfer around 30Mbit/s both ways. 100% reproducible so this is bug.

> If you enable compression the MT as a client will no longer talk to the MT AP. Association but no data across the link... this is not true, we can enable hardware compression on all types of cards we use (from very old 5211, with decent 5212 and 5213 - the only type we miss is newest 5414 = 5006X ...

wook, your english is absolutely fine. 120Mbps... don't count on that, definitely forget RB532 and such platforms, you should be using full-blown ATX computers and CPU around 1GHz to be on the safe side (you don't need 3GHz P4 monsters). You can reach ~100Mbps with several AP/antennas, but you are g...
