Re: Upgrade to 6.0rc11 broke policy-based routing? *solved*

For the record, I messed with recreating the route, and did eventually get it to show as active, but it still wouldn't send traffic over the route. Only recreating the mangle rules fixed it. It also seems worth mentioning that post-upgrade, the packet marks did not show up in Winbox in the "rou...

Upgrade to 6.0rc11 broke policy-based routing? *solved*

So I recently updated my two MT routerboards in my office to 6.0rc11, and my port 80/443 traffic forwarding over a 10/1.5mbps best effort circuit. Topology is as such: http://i.imgur.com/TU6667y.png The pertinent mangle rules on the primary router (RB493) are as such: [admin@router] > ip firewall ma...

Re: VoIP/Vlan help?

Figured it out, had to be under the bridge1 interface, not eth3, as eth3 is a member of bridge1. Sorry to take up space with my fumblings.

Re: VoIP/Vlan help?

Possibly because eth3 is a member of a bridge (with a wlan card) and eth2 isn't?

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Re: VoIP/Vlan help?

Also, testing now after hours, I have taken the vlan2 and moved it over to eth2, put eth2 on an open port on the switch, and added that port to the vlan2, and it works fine. So, for more detail: Eth3 10.0.0.1/24 w/vlan2 10.0.10.1/24 plugged into port 1 on the switch, port 1 and 6 are on vlan2 (set t...

VoIP/Vlan help?

So I've searched the forum and wiki, and found similar setups, but nothing that points me in the right direction to get this to work. Any help is greatly appreciated, and I'll preface it by saying it might be impossible due to switch hardware limitations. Here's the setup: Two different ISP uplinks ...

Re: RB411 CPE config issue

Ugh. So mad. Tried on another box running XP, instead of my Windows 7 Ent laptop. Works flawlessly. For those of you possible having the same problem (I saw this , and some other stuff), I noticed that ipconfig outputs this: default gateway........................0.0.0.0 192.168.10.1 which seems wro...

RB411 CPE config issue

So I am trying to setup an RB411 as a bridge for a webkiosk machine, and am unable to get it to route properly. Here is the setup: Open Wifi -> RB411 running 3.22 in station mode (show it is associated, and I can ping the internet from winbox) DCHP client on wlan1, with "add default route"...

Re: RB750 and Microsoft Hyper-V incompatible?

Unfortunately I was unable to resolve this, and as it was part of a client's office install, I had to abandon it. However, I have another RB750 in another enviornment that is passing hyper-v traffic just fine, so I believe it might be some kind of fluke with that particular setup. If anyone else stu...

Re: RB750 and Microsoft Hyper-V incompatible?

They are both on /24 subnets. Most configuration guides for Hyper-V give this as the default setup, as the second adapter just get's treated as a virtual switch, but is addressed by the host by it's IP. The 192.168.0.3 adapter does not have a gateway assigned to it, though, to avoid multihoming.

Re: RB750 and Microsoft Hyper-V incompatible?

Yeah, I had read about clock timing issues on lower CPUs, but this fellah's running dual Xeon E5420 w/16gb of ram, so no problem there.

Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot Hyper-V as opposed to telling me how you all picked the *right* virtualization platform, and are having no troubles?

RB750 and Microsoft Hyper-V incompatible?

So I'm sure he question will be asked "why not virtualbox/esxi/xen?", to which I will answer the clients are outlook exchange junkies, so we went with Hyper-V so I could run Trixbox on their windows server. Here's the deal: Internet -> RB750 (eth1)->Bridge1:192.168.0.1(eth2-5)->eth2 cabled...

Re: RB450 Capacitors problem?

I've got the same problem, here's some photos of the bad caps My RB450 has been in continuous use for about 1.5 years now. It was also probably running a bit hotter than it should have been (sitting on top of a Linksys AP that throws of a lot of heat). I'll probably just resolder some new caps, as I...
