Re: How can I get to connect 30 CPEs using 256Kbps each?

Hello, I'm not running a WISP setup here but I'm using Mikrotik for some time now. I had a problem with throughput and latency that i was trying to solve for few months. As I've browse the net and this forum i found out that ONE bad client can kill your AP. From the screen shot on your other thread ...

If you use freeradius: http://www.netexpertise.eu/en/freeradiu ... pport.html

Upgrade your freeradius version or do the modifications.

Re: remote scan and change network setting

sorry didn't noticed that the backup file is not editable. I was doing it with export file. So for wireless configuration do it like this: 1. Open terminal and type: interface wireless export file=wireless 2. You will see the wireless configuration file under Files as wireless.rsc 3. Get the file on...

Re: remote scan and change network setting

To change the configuration you can do it like this:

1. Go to Files
2. Make a backup of your config
3. Get the file on your local PC and edit the the configuration
4. Put the file back and restore your RB with the config you have just made

Re: latency on speed over 2Mbps

And problems are back again. Set my wifi card to B/G mode and the huge latency with packet loss and low CCQ's are back.

So I'm setting my network to B mode for now and and moving over to 5GHz.

I think there is nothing else to do.

Nikola

Re: latency on speed over 2Mbps

Hello marceloru, I was getting high latency on all clients when only one client goes over 2Mbps and total wlan traffic is around 2Mbps + some small 20-30Kbps from other clients. I got too low traffic 3.5-4Mbps when i put my network only in B mode, and now i want to try to support only 6Mbps, 9Mbps a...

Re: Remote scanning

I don't think there will be a script like that because it's not reliable. I use to do that on linksys devices but the thing was when the device has a lot of wireless traffic i can see only the AP with good signal like 5 devices, and when there is no traffic on the wireless card i can see 20 devices....

Re: Point to Multi-point question

You should do a site survey for your 2.4GHz client connections. Check and see if you will be able to cover the apartment building with only 1 AP. My AP is on top of my 6 floor building and i can't get any connection on 2nd floor. I can connect when i'm outside the building, even 150-200m away but th...

Re: latency on speed over 2Mbps

Thanks RK for your fast answer. I was thinking noise also because the there are a lot of wifi devices from the local telco here. With the adsl connection they offer they gave wifi routers cheap so everyone is getting them instead of simple router or a modem. I'll see how B mode only will work but as...

latency on speed over 2Mbps

Hello, I got RB411A with R52H card on 2.4GHz with 8db omni antenna. I got RouterOS v3.23 and current firmware 2.20. I got 3 AP's in static WDS and 6 clients connecting to my AP and usually the latency is 3-6ms, but the strange thing is when some of the clients starts some downloads and the speed goe...
