Re: SNMP problem after 5.2 upgrade

I have submitted a ticket to support. I can report that I have two other x86 units that were upgraded from 5.1 to 5.2 and SNMP seems to be working. However the ones that were upgraded from 5.0rc7 to 5.2 directly seem to be having the issue. Perhaps the configuration got corrupted during the upgrade?...

SNMP problem after 5.2 upgrade

After upgrading 4 PC x86 boxes from 5.0rc7 to ROS 5.2, I noticed my cacti graphs stopped working. I checked and rechecked all my SNMP settings and also notice I am no longer able to snmpwalk these devices. Below is the log output from one of the boxes when I try to snmpwalk it. Basically "snmpw...

Re: Point-to-point (/31) addresses

Has anyone got this working yet between an MT and a Cisco using OSPF as the IGP?

I can get both sides to ping using the /31 subnet mask and even get an adjacency formed but it doesn't seem to want to exchange routes.

Way to Display Association List

I am fairly new to the Dude and was if it is possible and how to do the following? I have some devices which I can read the association list Mac address, RSSI, Tx Rate, Rx Rate etc via SNMP. I would like to be able to pull and display that information in the dude. The only way I can think to do this...

Re: no more than one link between same elements

Thanks for the advice. Not sure why I didn't think of doing it this way. I ended up adding three networks and then linking each of the ports on the routers into the three subnets from both sides.

no more than one link between same elements

I have two routers which have 3 wireless point to point links between them. The three links are load balanced via OSPF. If I try to add more than one link between the routers in the Dude, I get "no more than one link between same elements" error. Is there a away to get around this issue so...

Re: SSH issue on v5.0rc5

We have ssh firewalled off to anything but our management IP's so for us, this really isn't necessary. Is there any consideration for making this an option vs an all or nothing approach?

Re: SSH issue on v5.0rc5

Seriously this has changed in v5? We import ssh keys for our backend systems to be able to automate certain tasks but if I have a tech in the field, I'd like them to be able to login via username/password directly as well.

Can this behavior be changed? I assume not...

SSH issue on v5.0rc5

Just noticed on a couple of routers running v5.0rc5 that once an SSH key is imported for the user admin, you can no longer SSH into the router via admin and authenticate via password. I can SSH in via key authentication without an issue. If I remove the SSH keys, I can once again login via username ...

DHCP & PPPoE IP Pools

I intend on setting up a DHCP and PPPoE server on the same ethernet interface to service two different sets of users. Can DHCP and PPPoE both share a single IP address pool or will they need to be separate? For management purposes I'd like to have just one pool. :)

iBGP peer not seeing default route

I have 2 MT routers running 4.10. Each has a separate external BGP connection. The two routers are also meshed together via iBGP. Both routers are receiving a default route from their eBGP peers as well as other specific routes. However, during my testing if I shut down one of the eBGP peers, that r...

Just to clarify your post, does the MAC listed in radius have to be specific or can it be done thru a wildcard entry somehow like 0a:00:3e:*:*:*?

Is there a way to copy the script source from a file that's been ftp'd or scp'd to device into the script scheduler? I have a large number of devices I want to copy a script to and then schedule to run. Is my only option to use /sys script add name=test source="SOME HUGE AMOUNT OF TEXT" Eric

Re: Programming Generic Default Configs

The way I have scripted uploading a default config is to use a couple of programs that come with putty. PSCP allows you to copy up backups or ROS images etc to the MT device. Then I use PLINK which allows you to login and run commands either individually or give PLINK a text file with MT commands. M...

I assumed it needed internet access because when I do the updates via winbox it resolves the mikrotik.com site and pulls the new license. How is this done offline?

Yes, you have to set disable-running-check=no for OSPF to in that manner. disable-running-check is only available via CLI. I don't have RB493Ah but I am running ROS ver. 3.24 on X86 and disable-running-check=no is available. Is it possibly available on X86 but not on RB493AH? Here is the output of ...
