Best wayt to setup OSPF

I am struggling with finding the best way to setup OSPF on a wireless network. I have two issues. First I don't really want to advertise all static routes. The reason is that everytime a client connects to a high site or disconnect OSPF will have to update other high sites if that route is available...

Route Cisco /29 range without loosing IP's

Hi, I am quite used to the point-to-point IP's used between mikrotik routers so that you do not waste IP's, but since my gateway router is connected to a cisco router what is the best way configure both to route the /29 without loosing any of my public IP addresses? For example, we have a range assi...

Re: RB751U and Huawei E169

Hi Alex,

Something is not quite right. After upgrading to Router OS 5.8 I get the following. This Modem works fine on my computer, so I dont suspect a fault with it.

Re: RB751U and Huawei E169

I am currently using RouterOS 5.7.
I will download the latest version 5.8 and check if there is any change in the problem. Thanks

RB751U and Huawei E169

Hi, I have managed to get my Huawei E169 working with a RB433UAH about two years ago without any problems. I now have a RB751U which I would like to use as a roaming wifi hotspot. I have tried everything that people have suggested on other forum post without success. I am currently using RouterOS 5....

Re: Apple compatible 802.11N 2.4 Ghz / 5.8 Ghz Dualband AP

what router do you have? have you enabled the second chain and set to 40mhz? only then will it work at 300 I have done this a few years ago when 802.11 N just became available to Mikrotik. Then even with the second chain and 40 mhz I was able to get it to work. I guess the best way is just to borro...

I am not sure how many antennas the MBP has. I would assume only one considering it will only connect at 150.
It has two and will work at 300 mbps with the Apple Airport Express which is MIMO.

Re: Apple compatible 802.11N 2.4 Ghz / 5.8 Ghz Dualband AP

We use RouterOS with MacBooks and have not seen a problem connecting and using the router. The fastest I have noticed it at is 130 but I also don't pay that much attention to it. Thank you cbrown. I also have not experienced any connection issues. I am strictly talking about getting it to connect f...

Apple compatible 802.11N 2.4 Ghz / 5.8 Ghz Dualband AP

Hi Guys, I want to build a fast home Access Point that will run on 2.4 Ghz and 5.8 Ghz 802.11 B/G/N. I use a mixture of devices including a few Apple Macbook Pro's. Apple is very full of crap when it comes to 802.11N and the Macbooks normally refuse to run at 300 mbps in the 2.4 Ghz band. Does anyon...

Re: Problem with NSTREME on 4.1

I am also experiencing problem with NStream in 4.1. I have change the hw-retries, with no effect. The link works fine until you put lots of traffic through it. The CCQ starts dropping as the traffic gets more and eventually the connection gets lost. This happens with a RB433 and RB411 each with an R...

I assume that rule needs to be first. Would other rules overwrite the packets that is already marked?

Putting all non marked traffic in Queue

Hi, I have setup layer 7 shaping on my router. It works great but there is only one problem. What about the traffic which is not marked? A lot of P2P clients use encryption to get past the router undetected. Is there any way to send all unmarked packets to their own queue so that they can be limited...

Different Shaping and Queues on different interfaces

Hi, I have a routerboard with two internet providers each on the separate interface. This does not act as a load balancing router since the one internet connection in unlimited bandwidth, but obvious slower, and the other one volume based where you pay for the data you use. So I am using layer 7 as ...
