its one-to-one nat, its for you, its does not matter what ip have the hotspot client in his properities(dynamic or static) you can set "to address" as you want and then mangle it or anything. he will always have ip bind to hotspot user( so he wont cheat you)

mesh is something diffrent than thing you want to achive... the simplest way to do this is to build big bridge and name all the hotspot with the same SSID with some central auth server.

btw. mesh is a way to find best way over the network with some redundancy and possible failure in some places.

yes you can do that. best if you have some radius server for auth (or have doubled secrets on both RB's) and then just set the second RB to ping first one, when ping fails turn on pppoe

no you can not do that in squid... mayby u should use some transparent QoS beetween squid and switch or just plug switch to the rb433 and make QoS there for wired and wireless clients
