Re: MUM in Australia. Would you come?

Australia = Dry, snakes and spiders lol
New Zealand = green with no snakes and the spiders dont kill you :-)

You should really ask the question NZ or Aus ?

I guess it is closer Europe

Re: Other wireless interfaces slow when one is loaded??

Bill, you have given me a couple of ideas. I have not had any problems in the past so think it a little strange it has happened now. The separation is at least 600-700mm between each antenna. Using 60x35 deg beam width. I have to visit the site again shortly so will move a couple of them to give eve...

Other wireless interfaces slow when one is loaded??

I have had this site is for a while now and never had any problems, but finding when one user is downloading at around 2mbit on one wireless interface, all other 2.4's slow down. They are even connected to different MT's. I have replaced the SR2 card with a new one and inspected the joints to the an...

Thanks normis, I do understand how the card works with the frequencies. The SR9 came with a table which lists 3,4,5,6 but not 1 (2412) So why does this work and not on 2422 ?? One end is running in ap bridge and the other station wds 2422Mhz -> 922Mhz 2427Mhz -> 917Mhz 2432Mhz -> 912Mhz 2437Mhz -> 9...

900 Mhz frequencies

I have been doing some testing using a SR9 card in a 532 v2.9.42 6dbi Omni and SR9 in a 133 v 2.9.42 9dbi Yagi NLOS 5km They are not running at full power as our regulations will do not allow. The links seam very stable and I can understand with 2.4 frequencies they overlap but with the 900 channels...

Nothing wrong with 2x SR cards. It is the max for a single RB. I have sites with 4 and 5 spread over multiple RB in the same enclosure and no problems.

I take it they are both on different channels?

Yip will work on 12v ok (generally you will need 6v batteries as 12v are not normally deep cycle) I use POE... less wires to run :-) You will need to calc out how much battery capacity you will need depending on the number of RB and radios, sun etc. I have not tried the new r52 but cannot see a prob...

I use steca (sometimes known as BP solar) regulators
They start at 10A which is fine. A small tip dont put the load through it ;-)
These are a good little unit for the price.

I have found sometimes it can be a total killer, other times you can get away with it, but with reduced signal strength. It seams different types of trees have varying effects also... I think it maybe the amount of moisture in the tree itself. If you are talking such a small distance and have good p...

Back about a year or so ago I was having all sorts of problems with high ping times. They would start off low and get higher until it timed out. However closer to the antenna site everything worked ok. I tracked it down to the Prism cards having a fixed ACK timeout value. Less than about 7km ok, ove...

Clients connecting in at 2.4GHz can be up for months without a drop off, but it was the back haul links that I could never keep up for more than a couple of days. This would cause the client to loose the pppoe connection. Now they never loose it. When changes were made it did not drop the pppoe conn...

Yip, I use it over 3x ADSL lines. Works great but if one one ADSL line falls over, the router still sees the modem and keeps sending info to it even tho its not actually connected. If the modem fails or is powered off then the ping command will pick it up and send the data out the other gateways. I ...
