Re: OSPF Connecting 2 seperate networks

Try changing your router id. I see you have them both set to 0.0.0.0. You should have a loopback interface and id also. I always use my loopback ip address as my router id also.

Re: MIMO polarization for maximum bandwidth

Why not use a Rocket Dish from ubiquiti and a ubtik or rockettik? You can get a rocket dish up to 36 Db and a mikrotik 711 in an encloser that will snap right onto the dish. Best of both world. And if you want to really pimp the link out you could also toss on some RfAmor. Makes for a nice clean ins...

Re: 29 mile link -What should I expect

I have a few 30+ mile links running both ubnt and mikrotik. No matter what radio we use on our ubnt antennas we always use the shield kits. The mikrotik links we use a ubtik from Baltic that is a RB/411AH with a R52Hn card in an outdoor enclosure that snaps right on the rocket mount. Makes for a ver...

Re: How Often Should We Reboot Radios

Our average uptime on Mikrotik access points and backhauls is around 350-400 days. Average uptime of mikrtoik routers is 150-200 days. Average uptime ubnt aps is about 14-20 days. We have some extreamly old Mikrotik running on some soekris boards that have been up for over 700 days, only one custome...

Re: Connections Limiting

I use this rule to take the customers that have gone over 200 connections and add them to an address list, after they hit the address list i have anther rule that kicks in and lowers there connections down to like 20. This rule only applies to my private address, i do not run this rule against my cu...

Re: Best hardware for 5.8Ghz transition

I have never had good luck running multiple cards on one board. In my network we run a mix of 411 and 433 for APs most running XR5 or XR2 cards. The big problem with multiple cards on one board besides the noise is that if the board fails it kills more than 1 sector. As for the client side i have be...

Re: 5.8 PtP link low Bandwidth?

What ver. of ROS are you running. I had a few links that had same problem while running ver. 4.X, downgraded to 3.30 and everything has been running fine for a few months now. If you are running ver. 4.x try turning off nstreme.

Re: point to point link

Are you running Nstreme, how are RBs set up. Post the configs. I have about 12 links that are in that distance range that all run fine with around 10 to 30 Mbps of traffic.

Re: Low throughput of small packets

I would try turning the framer policy to none. I belive that when it is set to best fit with a size of 4000 it holds all those little 64k packets until it can get as close to 4000 before sending one big packet over the wireless. I have heard of n-streme not working so well on low bandwidth links.

Re: How do I upgrade my RB433 with level4 license

If you want to upgrade versions to say 4.6 all you have to do is download new version from Mikrotik website then drag and drop into files window in winbox and reboot.
