Re: RB750G Suddenly Dead

My routerboard also went down (no power led). It hapened 3 times in a week, after 5-6 years without powering down.! I've opened it, and these are my capacitors.. router_capacitors.JPG Maybe related with http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?t=68265 In this post, chojrak11 tells: > I had some of th...

Question about arp-requests

I'm trying to setup a basic router with nothing special on it (two interfaces, a default route, ...) I'm able to ping to internet addresses, but I'm seeing arp-requests continuously trying to determine mac-address of: internet addresses (google, ntp-server, etc...) Someone can explain why routeros i...

Re: oids in notifications

I would love to show an OID there for our helpdesk but I suspect this is hard-coded into the Dude... Yes, for example, the value I'll try your solution (as simple as I Don't know why didn't think myself before post !) but don't like it very much, because devices will show "inestable" when...

Re: oids in notifications

I'm trying to log when the user logs in a windows xp. For this I've done an snmp extension wich returns that username via an oid Works well and i've changed the label of winxp devices (so I'm seeing who is logged on each device). Now I'm trying to log that oid in a separated log but I'm not able to ...

Re: Need some help with dst-nat issue.

HI. I've been facing the same problem,. I've a simple configuration with 2 wans. Althought I've done this in linux without problems, Can't figure how to do in routeros. See my post: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=34628 I didn't had an answer on how to do that simple question. and...

Re: questio about how to do DNAT.

Thanks for the response: I post firewall config. I disabled forward rules with no success. What I don't understand is why sometimes works, and sometimes not. configuration in mangle: (mark vpn, mark dnat server, mark allowed clients) /ip firewall mangle add action=mark-connection chain=prerouting co...

questio about how to do DNAT.

I've setup dnat on port 5900 (vnc) to an internal pc. Sometimes I can't connect to it (of course sometimes I can). If I look at connections on winbox (firewall->connections) I can see the connection with TCP State established when I'am connected. The times I can't connect, I see the TCP State: syn-r...

Re: Dynamic IPSec interoperability

but can you just prioritized the routing table using metrics
No because you can't have 2 tunnels between 2 lans with the same policy (src and dst address)
You have to change it "dinamically" when some connection dies. (not sure but with netwatch and a script?) I'm new to routeros.

Re: help with routing marks...

hi, I'm glad to see you again. Sorry if you think there is another intent other than explained in post. I'll try to explain, but english is not my natural language (as you could have guessed). I'm trying to ask questions as simple as I can, so it's more easy to understand. If I explain the whole con...

help with routing marks...

hi, With 2 wan connections, A and B, Which would be the rules in mangle to force a client (computer inside LAN) go through connection A or B? I've tested with this configuration, but does not work as expected: Routes: /ip route add comment="" disabled=no distance=1 dst-address=0.0.0.0/0 ga...

Re: Dynamic IPSec interoperability

By dynamic IPSec tunnel do you mean a failover tunnel? (that is, if one wan link breaks, the tunnel is stablished by other wan link?) I'd like to see this, because I'd like to implement as well. Could you post it?. I've setup ipsec between mikrotik an openswan in linux, I can give you details if you...

Re: problems after implementing webproxy

another thing is that some emails that were sent through outlook are not being delivered to recipients outside. I don't think outlook uses proxy, It connects directy to mail transfer agent (mail server), using ports 25|110|143|993 to send and receive mails (depending on security ssl, tls, etc...) u...

Re: help understand route rules

It would not routing-mark anything from any interfaces, would it? I mean, that IS the intent, isn't it? No. the intent IS make clear the whole process. If I need to mark, I'll mark. At a later stage, I'll have to mark routes and connections, but I've to make sure how the things work. I don't want t...

Re: help understand route rules

Currently ping src-address is broken thanks mrz for confirming this point. But what about route rules? (they are applied, or not, ) and what about routing decision on wiki or http://www.mikrotik.com.? Someone can confirm if there is a documentation error? I am not certain those rules are correct. I...

Re: help understand route rules

Ok, Mangle is needed, but, route rules? They are used for something? I thought specifying src-address in ping would be enough (together with rules) to make ping go by A or B. If I add these rules... /ip firewall mangle add action=mark-routing chain=output comment="" connection-state=new \ ...

help understand route rules

hi, I'm trying to setup an rb1000 with routeros 3.28. I've 2 isp connections, A and B, and the router is not natted (it has the public ip's assigned) At first stage of configuration, I'm trying to make the router connect to other public sites (ping, or ssh), and make them go through A or B. Just to ...
