Does Hotspot infringe on any Nomadix patents

Hi, I have had a comment from one of my hotels that they are worried as we are not using Nomadix as they just sued HP for their patents which include ''plug-and-play, home-page redirection, zero-configuration proxy service, and automated billing via seamless integration between the gateway and a hot...

Re: 5.11 and WDS

I am having the same issue on 5.11. It gets large amounts of traffic over the WDS interfaces as soon as they register and doesnt allow me to access them any more, i have to access via Mac address and disable to WDS to get back in. Have tried upgrading to 5.16 and am still having the same issue. This...

Re: MikroTik/RouterBOARD SXT 5D 16dB antenna weather concern

Its been a year since most of this topic has taken place and wonder if anyone has had any issues with rain entering the device or it is just the visual appearance that has created the concern about the SXT in harsh weather conditions. I am looking at installing the SXT and am slightly concerned abou...

Re: block the modem page expect ip

HI there, try /ip firewall filter add chain=forward src-address=192.168.1.0/24 dst-address=192.168.0.0/24 action=drop this will block all traffic from your lan network going to the wan network inluding the modem. Make sure this rule is at the top of the list before any allow rulles. Another thing to...

Re: WDS mode link between (2) 433ah Routerboard

HI there, Run this script for ap 1 and ap2 and it should get the link part going with a dynamic wds. Its easier to make it static once you have a link. #########AP1 / interface wireless set wlan1 ssid=wdslink mode=ap-bridge band=5ghz frequency=5180 wds-mode=dynamic disabled=no hide-ssid=yes security...

Re: Help, very low signal :(

there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with your configuration, if you want more power maybe try ubiquiti.

You might want to check out your countries EIRP restriction as the cards you have there with those antennas are putting out pretty high levels already.

Re: Wireless ISP structure ideas please?

For best quality signal you should have signal strength between -45 and -75dBm

if the signal is below -80dbm you will get drop outs especailly if you have encryption on your link.
