Is there any way to recover an admin password from the backup file? I can login to the router with a non-admin password but that login is restricted so I can't change the forgotten admin password. Is there anything I can do to recover the admin password since I can login?
I know this topic has probably been beat to death. However, the problem we see with P2P is not with the bandwidth. We have each user set to the speed they signed up for and I don't really care what they do with it. It becomes a problem when the connections per second get very high and cause problems...
I've noticed now that on the previous 3 or 4 versions of the beta up to and including 2.0beta8 the remote updgrade doesn't work. It correctly detects the older version on the client machine and asks if I want to upgrade. It will then download all of the files and at the very end will say remote upgr...
Does anyone have the original send text for the radius probe. I got the probe to work on one of our radius servers but it was crashing the second one. I changed the send text in the second one without realizing that it also changed the probe for all servers. Also, any reason why it would cause a mas...
I think I answered my own question. Apparently there are now SNMP profiles and I since I don't use standard snmp community names it convert over into beta4 from beta3. If I create a profile using my non-standard names and apply that profile to the devices, it works. Interesting.
I have recently discovered the graphing tool on the mikrotik boxes and have set that up to view usage on a particular queue that I was interested in. I have also setup a data source in DUDE to view the same data. I have some observations: When setting a queue in MT, one can choose by kb. When viewin...
I am using version 2.9.25 Mikrotik and have applied p2p traffic shaping today on all my routers. I have the following queue setup on each router: 0 name="All P2P" dst-address=0.0.0.0/0 interface=all parent=none direction=both priority=8 queue=default-small/default-small limit-at=128000/256...
It would be great to be able to view the charts I create in Dude on the web browser interface. Any chance of that? I run Linux (no wine) on my second desktop here and have to view my dude service via a web browser but I can't currently see the charts.
I had an old HP computer that had a pentium ~233 processor in it with 128Mb memory. I was running two four port ethernet cards on the box. The power supply finally died on it and I decided to upgrade the hardware since this router is a core router. On the old HP, I was running around 10 percent CPU ...
I see this happen when I click on the drop down menu on an empty section of the screen and then choose something from the drop down menu. I havent tried just double-clicking on something. However, I am able to make a new blank section and drag a map/log/etc to that section and it works. This all sta...
Here is something interesting. After ripping my hair out trying to figure out why my copy of DUDE keeps sending me alerts after telling it to STOP, it would appear that the problem is that there is another copy of the software running somewhere else and the alerts are coming from that copy. I have N...
Ok. Now this is getting very annoying. I have deleted my smtp servers (set them both to 0.0.0.0), deleted the pcsphone notification and I am STILL getting notifications to my PCS phone when something goes down on DUDE. Where is it storing that stuff and why can't I get it to stop sending notifcation...
Excellent! That worked. Now if I could just figure out why the changes I make to the alerts to seem to not work. I tell the thing not to alert me during certain times and it does it anyway. I tell it not to alert me at all and it does it anyway. I finally ended up just completely deleting the notifi...
After upgrading to 1.0rc8, I noticed that when opening a new chart or map, it puts it in the minimap spot. When I close and re-open dude.exe, it clears whatever I opened from the minimap but if I try to open a map or chart it puts it right back in the minimap.
I have all of my core routers set to SMS me on my cell phone when they go down. That part is working great. To do this, I set up an option in the notifications list as "pcs phone" and then I assign that to each device under polling that I want to notify me. Also in the pcs phone notificati...
I get repeated crashes when manipulating graphs and data sources. If I am working with DUDE via remote it crashes the remote instance but doesn't crash the main computer. If I do the same work on the main computer, it crashes on the main computer. I just restart it and continue on.
How do I successfully read the simple queues on mikrotik routers? I can get the values but they do not graph correctly. For bytes-in I have to set it to divide by 10000 and for bytes-out I have to set it to divide by 1000 to get graph values that are even close. I don't trust the graphs. Is there so...
Guess I'll have to take a look at that next time I am down there. I have been able to back it up before. The only difference now is that I have 3 interfaces instead of two but that shouldn't make any difference to the system.
Everything is empty, at least areas I can see. Is there some hidden file area that is only accessible using the secret handshake? Being that this is on a PC with a Gb drive it should not be full. I even checked proxies and dns cache. Both are empty.
Which process exactly was it (dude.exe, dudes.exe or dudew.exe)? It would be helpful if you could send us your export file for inspection to support@mikrotik.com
I am running Dude ver 0.91 and have experienced memory overloads on ocassion. I am also getting an error stating something about the version of the server not matching the version of the software (I will pay more attention to the exact error next time). I came in this morning and found that winXP wa...
Ok.. Just attempted this on a router. Here is the network topology on this particular network segment: weeds --> narnia --> core router On the narnia router, I have 6 ethernet ports. If I apply the rule above, is it not going to restrict to x number of connections the interface that has the backhaul...
In general, is it good to limit the number of connections from one IP to a certain amount? I know some http sites create multiple connections at one time. Is there a good number to use? We have had issues with maybe a hundred connections at a time being generated by customers who happen to get infec...
...and for further clarification, I am getting the following in the logs from the pptp-server: 15:06:16 pptp, info TCP connection established from 72.x.x.x 15:06:16 pptp, ppp, info <pptp-0>: waiting for call... 15:06:19 pptp, ppp, info <pptp-0>: terminating... 15:06:19 pptp, ppp, info <pptp-0>: disconnecte...
I have been having a very difficult time connecting two mikrotik routers via pptp. One is running version 2.9.4 and the other is on 2.8.28. I have tried connecting by setting one side as the server, the other as client and then swapping. It will not connect either way. I am able to make a pptp conne...
OK. There's your problem. You don;t have rules to allow things like DNS traffic to work. I've cut the list below to remove the stuff that's not relevant to this: 2 I ;;; accept requests for local DHCP server in-interface=Wireless dst-address=:67 protocol=udp action=accept 4 ;;; Accept DNS replies s...
Yes. It is routing stuff from one side to the other. The problem is that I cannot talk to anything FROM the router which breaks a number of things on the router. I can get SNMP traffic from devices on the internal side of the network.
[quote="viktorija"]For getting SNMP response, you should enable snmp service in /snmp, also add community name. Please show what you have here: /ip address print SNMP is enabled. I have many other routerboards setup in other locations and they are working fine with SNMP, etc. The /ip addre...
I recently installed a routerboard with 2.8.18. The router is connected to the internet via the PUB interface using a non-routable IP block 172.18.1.2 -> 127.18.1.1. The equipment on the INT interface has routeable addresses and I can connect to the internet from anything on the inside of the INT in...
We are seeing a strange problem where we have PPPoE clients authenticated and connected and it seems that they will be working fine for a random period of time and then suddenly the traffic will stop but the interface is still connected. We are assigning addresses from a pool and using radius for au...
I have the same problem. I am trying to get differing upload/download speeds and I am actually using the Ascend-Data-Rate attribute per some of the MT docs and it sets both the up/down speed the same (as seen in the queue created by the pppoe connection). I guess I am supposed to be using the Rate-L...
Is there some way to allow bursting while using PPPoE? I would like to be able to return the burst and bandwidth control info via a radius attribute. If this doesn't work, is there a way to setup simple queues or queue trees to do the same thing? I have not been able to get it to work because the IP...
