Re: Mikrotik DNS consumes 100% of CPU

I have been having the same problem. I finally set the cache time on the dns to 00:00:00. Now CPU time is much lower.

Things are going much better now.

Dude db failure

I'm running Dude on a CCR1036-12G-4S with ros 6.38.5. This system has been running for many months monitoring a fairly large campus. Yesterday I started the Dude client on WIndows and connected to the server. I receive the following message at the bottom of the screen: server status: db failure: dat...

Cost ?

Is it possible to run The Dude server on a x86 machine with a level 1 (free) license ?

If not what is the lowest cost license that The Dude server will run on.

Thanks in advance

OpenVPN connecting to list of addresses ?

I thought I read that one of the recent releases of RouterOS allows you to specify a list of addresses to connect to when configuring OpenVPN.

Did I dream this ?

If it was added can it be done with the web GUI or is it CLI only, in any event I'd like to know how to set it up.

Thanks in advance,

Different speeds depending on destination

I have a corporate hotspot and I want the users to be speed restricted based on destination. Hotspot network is 10.100.19.x If the destination is 10.x.x.x I want unlimited bandwidth. if the destination is anything else I want them limited to 4mbit. Can I do this with simple queues ? I assume simple ...

Re: Ethernet port problem ?

That port directly connects to the DSL line from our provider. Our service is 30Mbitdown/7Mbit up so this would affect our users outgoing traffic.

Attached is the Torch output. No source or destination specified.

Ethernet port problem ?

Just in the last week I installed a CCR1016-12G using it as a Hotspot controller. All has been working great until last night. I am using Ethernet port 4 for my egress to the internet and Ethernet port 10 for my hotspot users. I am also using Ethernet port 2 just to monitor and manage the Routerboar...

Re: CLIENT ISOLATION

Can you force the netmask of the clients to be 255.255.255.255. That should only allow the clients to talk to the router.

I've seen this used in DSL configurations to keep clients isolated.

x86 and NIC cards

We recently purchased a HP server with 2 internal Broadcom 1Gbit interfaces. We tried installing two additional Trendnet TEG-ECTX cards. Only one of the new cards shows up in RouterOS. Is there a limitation on the number of active interfaces ? If not any ideas how to get the second add on card to be...

Features needed

I'm not sure if this should be here or in General RouterOS (Hotspot) but I'll start off here. We are migrating a resort of 159 rooms from another companies hotspot software to a MikroTik based solution. So fare everything is going well but we need to know if it's possible to do two things. 1. We wou...

Re: Routerboard Recommendation ?

Thanks for the help. I have purchased a RB1100AHX2 and it arrived today. It came loaded with 5.26 and I would like to upgrade to 6.7. I tried the auto upgrade and it didn't work.

Can I just copy the packages to the root directory and reboot ?

Thanks again for all the help !

Routerboard Recommendation ?

We have a resort in Aruba with approx 159 rooms with an AP in each room. We average approx. 300 users at peak with a network link speed of 30Mbit down/10Mbit up. We limit download speed to 1Mbit for all users. Which Routerboard product would you recommend for operating Hotspot and Usermanager in thi...
