Re: Problems with DNS for www.google.com

I haven't seen anybody suggest my thought, so here it is: Your DNS requests are being hijacked, or someone is trying to run the trick of beating the response from the correct server and hoping they can get the correct sequence number. The 1 week TTL is a bit of a clue that something unsavory is goin...

Re: VOIP Phones not ringing HELP PLEASE

In case this helps you, here is a list of current bugs (for example) in the Draytek 2200E+, 2100g, and 2110n models. As you can see, any of these could be your problem, especially if you are sending the packets through a VPN or tunnel of any kind that causes the MTU to decrease along the path. If yo...

Re: VOIP Phones not ringing HELP PLEASE

The problem may be in the Draytek itself. They have a lot of really basic IP bugs in some of their routers, which they don't seem interested in fixing. Mainly because they don't know what an RFC is. I recommend not buying Draytek. Need an example? Some of their products have a command: "wan DF_...

I modified & compiled ppp to not send the accmap(asyncmap) item, and to just assume an asyncmap of 0 for both sides. After turning off other items that Mikrotik was rejecting (afccomp, protocomp, vjcomp), and setting mppe 128 stateless, I am getting connections and passing traffic...for about si...

PPTP fails to negotiate with FreeBSD

Hello, I am using RB433AH to connect to PPTP running on FreeBSD. The server is well established and works with a variety of clients. The RB initially had v3.25, but I moved to v3.30, and then v4.5. The problem across all versions is that the LCP negotiation does not seem to succeed. I have set the s...
