Hex Poe (RB960PGS) - needs a better cpu

Really hoping Mikrotik has a revamped hex poe coming out soon. Have many sites run by this little router but the limited cpu is starting to show its age. Would like to see a quad core arm like the hap ac2 with poe capability of the hex poe.

Re: BFD on static routes and interfaces

I've tested it personally and it appears to work. Of course we don't run alpha/beta code in production systems. My point was that one of the most requested features did eventually make it into routeros. So keep requesting the features you want people and perhaps we'll get them -- granted it could be...

Re: BFD on static routes and interfaces

I don't think that is quite accurate. I'm sure we'll see it eventually just like udp support for openvpn eventually arrived in v7.

I guess if you need it now one must use another vendor (spend money elsewhere). Although I'd rather use a 'tik.

I would also like to see bfd available for static routes.

Re: CDN Overload

I have handled way too many calls from customers at the WISP I work at where Microsofts Windows 10 update was eating up their bandwidth and overloading their rate limit by a misbehaving CDN (usually limelight networks). The CDNs are starting to abuse TCP to get data to their customers as quickly as ...

Re: RB 750UP Gigabit Version

*bump*

We use a ton of 750UP at our smaller sites. Would upgrade them all in a heartbeat to something with gigabit and more ports. Especially need gigabit now that the 100Mb uplink port is becoming a limitation for backhaul when used with airfiber5x/etc.

Script - DHCP Lease to Simple Queues

Why? Simple way for someone non tech savvy to figure out who or what is using bandwidth on the router. Individual computers / devices can be rate limited with ease. Virtually maintenance free as script keeps the simple queue table up to date and cleans up after itself. What it does: This script scan...

Re: nstreme dual - nv2?

You can simulate the full duplex nature of nstreme-dual with ospf: http://gregsowell.com/?p=2493 http://stfunoo.be/?p=696 http://blog.butchevans.com/2008/10/using-ospf-to-create-full-duplex-behaviour-for-wireless-links/ http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Dual_Setup_with_OSPF A single radio failing with n...

Re: No luck configuring QOS for Voip over Satellite

Hi. I think the queue root parents look odd. afaik you need the queue root parent to either be an egress interface or set to global-in/global-out. You'd then have subqueues under these in both directions for phone traffic and other traffic. So for shaping on egress with two ethernet interfaces on th...

One of the MUM presentations stated that NV2 uses a long guard interval only which accounts for that rate.

Re: RB600A Reboots as soon as I run traffic through it

So how does one properly define the settings since the software is not aware of the offset? Should one set tx power to "card rates" and set maximum transmit power to 19? Would defining the rates and associated power levels manually make more sense? What would that matrix look like for the ...
