Moving DUDE from one Windows Server to another

I've exported DUDE settings and installed on another Server and imported the XML.

Having set it to run as a Service, on my old server when the app closed it would still be seen in the Task Manager processes, but when I close on new server it is not.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Yes, it seems that the notifications for each device had become disabled (unticked) so I re-enabled it for the items that have notifications.

No it isn't, but isn't that showing the setting from the top level in settings > polling if you wanted to set all object to use notifications by default? If it's unticked you then set at the lower level for each object you want notification for. My issue was that it was working and then stopped afte...

Just noticed all my email notifications have stopped. First thing I did was restart DUDE 1. Checked the Polling tab on a monitored server which is set 'Use Notifications' = ticked, and the name 'Notification' is ticked, when I check this and press the 'Test' button I get the email. 2. The broken link are virtual servers but I've not setup the fixed links.

What I now want to do is monitor activity/performance between one server running an MS application but where the SQL database is located on another server. Is this possible with Dude?

Re: Dude sensitivity

Dude is installed on my PDC, the external HD is connected to a Server that Dude is monitoring but the copy requirement is only once a month. I think half the problem is the lack of configuration that probes enjoy, e.g. there's no average over time, only instant interogation of a single point in time.

Re: Dude sensitivity

I'm not sure the polling interval will make much of a difference. I was copying 80Gb so that can take a considerable amount of time, simply changing the polling internal will only delay when it interogates, not improve the sensitivity.

I'm hoping this is probably a setting per network object.

I was copying a large chunk of data to an external harddisk and Dude reported lots of unstable emails for said server, what's the best setting to adjust?

When I view a graph for a device such as a server, is the CPU % refering to the same % as refered to in the task manager performance as I need to monitor CPU/Memory over a period of time?
