janis say: Global-Out or Interface HTB? There are two fundamental differences In case of SRC-NAT (masquerade) Global-Out will be aware of private client addresses, but Interface HTB will not – Interface HTB is after SRC-NAT Each Interface HTB only receives traffic that will be leaving through a part...
Hi, i'm running a pppoe server with 1000 users, and simple queues are messy, so im trying to set up a queue tree, after read the megis presentation, I have some doubts, this is my setup: /ip firewall mangle add action=mark-connection chain=forward comment="Clientes 512k" disabled=no new-co...
I'm running ROS 4.10 in a x86 router with a couple of rtl8169 nic's, and i'm having a lot of packet drops, now I downgrade to ROS 3.30 and works ok, but i've to setup bgp in this router, need to upgrade ROS, wich version could work properly?
my problem is similar, the worst thing is, the clients sometime can't connect, the nanostations show
ppp not connected, but no error in the log (nanostation or pppoe server)
Hi, I've this setup: pppoe server---------switch---------rb493[bridged ether1,2,3,4,5,6...](from ether2 to ether9 UBNT rockets as wds bridge where the clients connect) some clients, some times, can't authenticate in the pppoe server, like packets lost before reach the pppoe server. so how can I do t...
the problem is, in the router (10.0.0.1) is the pppoe server and behind the ap's in the end are the clients, later I must replace the private ip's for a public pool, all the routers in the way act as brdiges with a managment vlan(172.16.0.0/21) and a a pppoe vlan, the ap's in the end (ubnt rockets) ...
in this situation (attachment), where should I set proxy-arp in order to reach the ap's in the end? (the part inside the orange lines is repeted 4 times from the switch)
I already tried several configs, but I can't make it work ok
i'll check that when back to the lab, but, when the rb493 was connected directly to the pppoe server (without the switch) I was able to reach 172.16.0.2 from 192.168.0.0
the situation is: from pppoe server I can ping 172.16.0.2, from 192.168.0.0/24 I can ping 172.16.0.1 but I can't reach 172.16.0.2 or any other router in that network...
I understand that I must set a rate-limit per client queue, but I ask about the rate-limit in the pppoe profile, it's seems to be redundant, have a dynamic simple queue per user and then limit again in the queue tree
or maybe I'm missunderstanding how the queues works...
And about the topic, why dont you set address-list on PPPoE server profile and then use it to make a queue tree based on mangle with that address-list. It will contain all the LOGGED client IPs from your IP POOL! So the queue tree will work only on the IPs being used at the moment and it will modif...
Hi, i've a (stupid?) question, i've a pppoe server with 900-1000 clients, I don't have any queue for limit or priorization, for now I've enough bandwidth for all the clients, but I want to start using QoS to improve the service... the question is, if I create a queue tree (pcq), in pppoe profiles I ...
Hi,
i've a network with 400 clients (nanostation 5, nanostation 5 loco), the AP's are mikrotik in ap bridge mode( wds disable), but now I need some clients in wds mode, if I set the wds in the AP, the clients in station mode (wds off) still will connect to the ap?
