Bug with bridge+eoip ?

Hello Recently I was practising eoip between Mikrotik routers. Eoip established between 2 Mikrotiks on public addresses. Everything went OK, 2 remote LANs connected fluntly. Strange thing happened later. I deleted Eoip on remote router and left unconnected eoip on my home router. Soon I noticed that...

Re: CRS112 performance and strange bahaviour

Yes but the catch is that all what was inside flash/ is also wiped

And do I miss something ? I just tested my old 2011 upgraded to 6.36 and there is no /flash folder and nothing is wiped after reset.

CRS112 performance and strange bahaviour

Hello We tried to use CRS112 for the first time. It appeared that while adding any routing ( even simple ) the performance of CRS is drastically reduced and CPU load goes up to 100% almost all the time. I have question: is it normal in CRS112 that after reset to default all files in the flash are wi...

Re: How to block DHCP throught EOIP tunnel ?

Thanks for tip
I managed to configure both ways: yours and mine. tested.
The overall performance is the same while in you solution some Windows services were not advertised equally in both LANs.
I appreciate that your solution is more...elegant :)

Re: How to block DHCP throught EOIP tunnel ?

Design is foolproof and simple. Prepared in case of eoip fail. When fails - both locations work independently without obstacles. ISP provider on one site is of poor quality.

How to block DHCP throught EOIP tunnel ?

Hello I have 2 LANs happily connected through EOIP. Everything works fine, machines from both LANs see each other. I have DHCP server in each LAN and this causes a problem. DHCP requests fly through EOIP so randomly machine from LAN1 gets IP from the DHCP server in LAN2. ( and both directions happen...

Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Which method consumes less resources ? Filtering on firewall or service access whitelisting ?

RouterOS is a closed source piece of software, so no one (other than the developers) can know for sure, but I'm guessing...
So I am not going to offend you in any way but: you do not know, you are guessing ?

Re: IP/Services/Winbox/Available from - how it is done ?

Thanks but, how IP/Services/ Availabile physically works ? Through IP tables or another way ?

And 2nd question arise upon your answer: which method is safer ( limiting service avalability or setting filters on firewall ) and why ?

IP/Services/Winbox/Available from - how it is done ?

Hello
In fact my knowledge od Linux itself is limited :D
I am curious: how it is really done: limiting access by IP adress to Mikrotik router services.
I suspect that propper entries are done in IPtables ( in fact firewall )
Am I right ?

IP Scan - I do not understand why such results ?

Assume I have LAN with address 10.0.0.0/24 with some directly attached computers and some small wifi routers. I did IP Scan from Mikrotik to LAN at address range 192.168.1.1 to 254. I was surprised to see, several matches ( around 10 ) of 192.168.1.1 and some MAC addresses. I mean something like tha...
