Re: 12V vs 18V vs 24V

I have the RB800 which specs say it requires 48V. Two questions about it: If I use the PoE from a Cisco port, will that work well? I thought about removing all VLAN's so it was just PoE and use the Gig port for the data path, hopefully it won't cause a net loop. Will the RB800's run well on a 24V su...

VLAN separation and setup

I have remote users connected to a switch, the switch connected to an RB433, backhauled to the next RB433. it connected to my core switch then out through the router to the world. My switches and routers are setup on VLAN (VOIP and Data). No matter what I have tried I can only get data going one way...

Re: RB411 Ethernet Freezes (No receive)

I have run into the same isue with the RB433's. I use Engenius 2610's and ran a LAN cable between its port and the ethernet port 2 on the RB. Ethernet one (which also has the POE) has a customers computer plugged into the AC Brick. Ports 1 and 2 have no receive but good transmit. RB's etherent port ...

Pinging from within the Router Board

I have searched and couldn't find anything like I am experiencing. I have two RB433's connected to a third RB433 on a 5G Backhaul. The third is hard wired into a RB1000 (which provides DHCP for the users). I can ping when I am connected to the system via my laptop. When I WinBox into any of the Micr...

error: net prohibited........wireless signal dropping to 0

I have two problems that I cannot find anywhere, the internet and manufacturer sites seem to be silent about these. I have an ISP set up on a military FOB. I am using Engenius 2610's and MicroTik 433's. They all come back to an RB1000. On most days, I watch the AP's signal strength (using Inssider, ...

Re: Winbox - Hotspot descriptions

That explains very well why I see a second IP address.

How would I separate my management IP addresses from the customer space?

Thanks

Re: Winbox - Hotspot descriptions

The clients get their IP's via DHCP set up in the RB1000, either via an AP or hardwired into the rack (to Eth2 port on RB1000).

The RB1000 is the only place NAT is set up. Eth1 port on the RB is set to the public address then goes through a Cisco 1800 then serial to a Paradise Modem to the satellite.

Re: Winbox - Hotspot descriptions

Thank you, that explains so much. What I still don't understand... Why does the MAC address of my AP show up with an IP that isn't assigned to it? I have given it a static IP. I do have a radius server and any one on the public side sees the public IP, not the private, but yet, I have private IP's i...

Winbox - Hotspot descriptions

I have searched this forum for a place that describes what I am seeing under IP>Hotspot of Winbox using the RB1000, describing that when I am looking at the Hosts tab, what is "Address", and "To Address". My understanding is "Address" is the MAC addresses' address and &...
