Please send any info you think may help, this is something i would have to try on test box and would change the topology of the ip layer somewhat.

I would say its the fact that the chipset handles vlan tags poorly.If not properly at all.

realtek and intel work great. but research your chipset.

The other possibilty is that your missing some routes.

I have 1 vlan name=vlan674. on ether1 with 1 ip address of 72.13.X.X i can ping that class c address but not the routed class c address behind it. from mikrotiuk i can ping every addres in calss c and rfc1918 address. but from wan into router ,into vlan i loose my last hop at my vrrrp cloud. i was trying some filter policys on my mikrotik v2.9.17.
