Re: LHG52AC with superchannel: PA risks?

Hi, I'm using two LHG 52 AC (RBLHGG-5HPacD2HPnD) Would you mind sharing your config? I have tried several times to get a link with these, but my signal level is always horrible. -70 to -80. I think I have a setting wrong, and it's not transmit power. I switch to an AF5X and I'm working great! Thank...

Re: Why no 60/80ghz with 5ghz failover?

It does not share the same antenna for both bands! It is a parabolic dish for 60 GHz and a small patch for 5 GHz. When you want the fallback for cases where the link attenuation suddenly is high, it will not work because it has only very little gain on 5 GHz. Of course MikroTik could make a similar...

Re: Why no 60/80ghz with 5ghz failover?

You should not have cut away my remark: (when you think they have it, carefully study the datasheet to see if you can find the catch!) I've examined the datasheet, but no 'catch' is jumping out at me. We've deployed about 12 links in Manhattan and they work great. Is there a ticking time bomb in th...

LHG XL 52 ac - How does the advertised bonding/failover work?

So I purchased a few LHG XL 52 ac links and I've never used mikrotik 5Ghz devices before. As I look at the default configuration, it appears wan1 & wan2 are in the same bridge. Wouldn't this cause a loop? Are we supposed to configure the bonding? Has anyone used these yet? Here is the default co...

Re: Why no 60/80ghz with 5ghz failover?

It is not so easy to make a dual band (5/60 GHz) wireless device that shares the same antenna for both bands. That is also why most other manufacturer's don't have it either. Actually, they have. The airFiber 60 has 60Ghz with 5 Ghz backup. Works great! IgniteNet has had one out for years, if you c...

I am unable to backup the dude (6.46.1 mmips). I have created a script, which works manually but fails by the scheduler. 02:00:00 script, error could not run script backup-dude-locally: not enough permissions > /system scheduler set policy=ftp, reboot, read, write, dude 0 But then 'dude' is missing from ...

Re: LHG60 with 5Ghz Backup

As a 5G backup we use dedicated radio. Can someone manage a good link switching script? If you happen to use Extreme switches, I found the PERFECT solution. Port Redundancy. So, with port redundancy you can make a 2nd port a backup port if the link on the 1st port goes down. However, with wireless ...

Re: GPeR with non-poe destination device

Jumpers disable PoE forwarding to the other end, but you still need PoE power on the input end, to power the GPeR itself.
Yes, I have it connected to a 802.3af switch. Power is there, but the GPeR does not power up unless a device connected to the GPeR is requesting POE.

GPeR with non-poe destination device

Ok, tell me what I am doing wrong. I am trying to get my laptop working with 1 GPeR in line. My laptop does not support PoE, so as per the manual, I should remove the 2 out-side poe jumpers. In case if the destination device does not support or requires PoE powering, the power passthrough can be dis...

Re: New Wireless Wire Dish (LHG60G) missing 5 degree spacer

We have never purchased any 5GHz Mikrotik, only the 60Ghz. They always included the spacer until this batch.
I will check, but I think the 5 degree spacer only comes with the 5GHz LGH dishes, not the 60GHz devices.

New Wireless Wire Dish (LHG60G) missing 5 degree spacer

We just ordered several Wireless wire dishes, but these did not come with the 5 degree spacer to mount the dish without the bracket. Where can we get these 5 degree metal parts?

We always avoid the bracket when possible as it makes the antenna much more solid in windy environments.

Thank you.

Re: wAP 60Gx3 AP experiences ?

We setup a wAP 60Gx3 PMP network in Prospect Park the other day for the NYC Half Marathon with 3 stations. Overall, it worked out but the setup was slightly frustrating. We found the alignment process to be just as difficult or worse than the LHG 60G. There seems to be a mismatch in RSSI on the stat...

I've heard that Mikrotik has released the new LHG 60 Ghz R2 review
for range up to 6000m and embedded wifi 5GHZ
I can't find anything on a new R2 version. Do you have any more information? We run 5GHZ backup paths on every LHG60, but an integrated backup would be so much easier.

Just today while installing a lhg60g link today in Central Park, I was wondering if the Mikrotik team would ever shed some insight on the alignment procedure.
