Re: VLAN Truck, bridging untagged packets

I've been out of the loop for awhile. Does anyone know if the latest RouterOS releases solve for this issue?

Test Configurations Before Committing to Them

Is there any way to test configuration changes on RouterOS without committing to them? I was just playing around with my router's firewall remotely, made a mistake and now I've locked myself out and brought the internet down. My only resolution now is to drive to it's location, physically reset the ...

PPP Profile Bridge Not Working

I've set up a bunch of firewall rules based on In/Out Interfaces rather than IP addresses to minimize possible errors due to incorrectly types ip addresses. It works great until i introduce VPN using PPTP. I have a management network that has DHCP set up. I created a PPP profile where the Local and ...

Filtering HTTPS Traffic

I want to create a network that only allows access to certain web sites for both HTTP and HTTPS traffic. I was able to get HTTP to work using NAT and Web Proxy, but am not sure how to work with the HTTPS side. I also played with the Hotspot feature, and it somewhat works in that when it's on, I can ...

Re: VLAN Issue - Yet Again

I've thought about it some more, and it boils down to the following requirement: I need to be able to bridge untagged traffic separably from tagged traffic from the same interface. This is someone RouterOS cannot currently do as far as I can tell. 1.) See if your access point accepts having a manage...

VLAN Issue - Yet Again

I have a RB450 and want to set up the following configuration: ------------------------- | P1 | P2 | P3 | P4 | P5 | ------------------------- For P1, I want a direct interface connection to a Wireless AP Controller. For P2, I want to trunk three VLANS (two tagged and one untagged) to my wireless AP....

Re: Issue with Unreplied SSL Connections

I think I found the problem. On my central router, the firewall allowed the external IP address through when it should have been allowing the private IP address instead. Looks like I was barking up the wrong tree.

Thanks for the help though!

Re: Issue with Unreplied SSL Connections

Thank you! Ya, failed to mask those. I did make a mistake in one of my printouts. For the IP Address Print Detail readout, I deleted the wrong IP address that was listed (I deleted inapplicable IP addresses). Here is my corrected applicable list: 1 address=10.10.2.254/24 network=10.10.2.0 broadcast=...

Issue with Unreplied SSL Connections

I have a server behind a RouterOS firewall with a Src-Nat, Dest-Nat and Hairpin set up. From inside the firewall, I have no problem accessing all services from my server. However, from outside the firewall, I run into a problem when trying to access SSL web pages on my server. Looking at the Connect...

Dst-Nat Inaccessable From Inside

I have two routers set up as follows: (cloud) <-> Router1 <-> Router2 <-> Web Server Router1 uses NAT Masqurading for outgoing internet traffic. It also uses Dst-Nat to forward all traffic for a particular IP address to my Web Server. There is nothing special about Router2, except that it routes bet...

Re: VLAN Truck, bridging untagged packets

Rumaging around in one of our routerboards that has the switch chip, It appears that it can assign untagged to a specific vlan. I've tried playing around with some of those settings, but there was no way to indicate different settings for incoming/outgoing. It would either strip all tags, or add a ...

Re: VLAN Issue Between two routers

You would have to either introduce switches between the routers and radios that can turn VLAN 10 into the native VLAN just on the trunk between them (bridged through the radios), or buy radios that support VLAN management interfaces. Ya, I was afraid of that. Doesn't seem like it would be that hard...

VLAN Issue Between two routers

Setup: (ROUTER) <=> (RADIO) <-Wireless Link -> (RADIO) <=> (ROUTER) I have a RB450 router at two different locations, connected by a wireless link. Each wireless link has it's own IP address. The two routers are passing several VLANs using a VLAN trunk. However, my radio devices don't support VLAN t...

Re: VLAN Truck, bridging untagged packets

Has there been a solution to this scenario? I have the same issue. With my Cisco switch, I have no trouble assigning non-tagged packets to a default VLAN on my trunk, but can't get my RouterBoard to do the same thing.

Best Method for Routing Multiple Fixed Public IP Addresses

I'm new to RouterOS. I have point A that will be getting FIOS, along with a block of 5 fixed IP address. I'm going to be beaming (via WiFi) one connection to point B, while providing limited access to a LAN at Point A. The router will be located at Point A. Here's what I want to do: Ether1 - be the ...
