Re: What is the default PoE output voltage/power? [SOLVED]

Are you sure your camera uses 12V poe? Some cameras use 12V power adapter, but still uses 48V 802.3af poe?

Re: 📣 WinBox 4 is here 📣

I have a couple wishes for the Wireless Tables - Registration view: When right clicking one of the registered clients you can login to client with Telnet or MAC Telnet. It would be nice to have Winbox as an option - MAC or IP (from Last IP field). Also, in addition to Last Activity field and Tx/Rx B...

Re: Long range wireless links - share your experience

There are some national regulations wider than standard ETSI. In my country we have a max of 200W eirp for PtP in 5.8GHz. Not available in ROS7, yet.

RB5009UPr+S+IN poe-out depends on power via 2-pin connector or DC-jack. PoE-in is only for running unit itself.

You could try changing channel. Around 60000 is worst for rain (i.e. 58320), higher is better: try 64800 and above.

Re: Request for advice

My suggestion is to try with wAP as accesspoint and cAP as repeater, and if not working good enough you could add outdoor client on B and C.
Use https://mikrotik.com/product/sxtsq_5_ac as client connecting to wAP, and with cable to the cAP indoor.

Re: Is is possible to bridge two points wirelessly in a 8km distance?

No experience with situations like this at all, just putting out an idea:
What is needed speed/capacity for this bridge? Would good old 2.4GHz be an option?
Used to have 15dbi omni antennas for 2.4. Mount the antenna 'hanging' (with some extra weight) so gravity (theoretically) evens out the waves.

Re: For those who has Wireless Wire Cube

Never had any Wireless Wire Cube, but I expect QMP to be OK? With QMP you get both the mounting clip for SXT/DISCLite series and a small pole adapter. Use the pole adapter. https://i.mt.lv/cdn/rb_images/1445_hi_res.png QM and QME are next step in size. I use the already suggested UB-AM for bigger an...

Re: Upgrading from SXT Lite5 ac

300Mbps and 180/180Mbps is impressive if that is real throughput, you must have good conditions. Expect that is UDP, not TCP? With a wider beam antenna there will be two changes: Lower signal (13dbi vs 16dbi antenna) and more noise from the sides. Both might or might not have significant impact, dep...

Re: Upgrading from SXT Lite5 ac

I would suggest Wireless Wire nRAY. A preconfigured pair for PtP bridge in 60GHz. A little above your price limit ($298 for two units), and not backwards compatible with your current 5GHz. But throughput will be maybe 800-900Mbps. Be aware that it must be absolutely clear LOS, not a leaf in between....

Re: LHG 60 does not connect at 2150m with los and perfect weather :(

I tested an AF60 LR 4.7km link with -57 signal (not fully optimized) and have two LHG60 links 1.6 and 2.1km with also -57 to -58 signal in production. We had some rain, not really heavy. And the 4.7km 69GHz went down, while the shorter LHG links at 64.8GHz were not noticably affected. Logically a lo...

Re: Router mikrotik hexpoe

From products presentation: It (hEX POE) can power at/af mode B (4,5+)(7,8-) compatible devices, if 48-57 input voltage is used. Never tested with camera, but with some Ubiquiti equipment it can help to use 'always on' instead of the more safe 'auto' for poe in hEX POE. (I take no responsibility for...

Re: ETA on a long range 60ghz product?

Mikrotik has been good on 60GHz in my opinion, but limited with european rules to use only 57-65,9GHz. This is now changing, so all they need is to give LHG60 and/or (preferably) nRay new chipset (or whatever needed) that can make use of 57-71GHz instead of 57-65,9. Hopefully this is not too complic...

Running Wireless Wire Dish 2080m, today is snowing and signal -60, speed 1155. Normally -58 and some 1800-1900.
Also 1600m with -55 and 2310 at 64800, even in same snow as above.

Only tested, never implemented OLSR, but it could be an interesting option here. Not supported by Mikrotik (in fact, almost nobody does). My experience with 60GHz (1.6km) is stable connection, only very heavy rain&fog giving trouble 30 min twice a year. What I could see, was that link changed a ...

Re: Long range connection

I am new to Mikrotik, so others know better difference between nv2 and 802.11. You can use either, but nv2 is Mikrotik only. My point was that 5Mbps is fairly low demand, so older systems might be OK. You need long distance, not high throughput. And for long distance, lower frequenzy (2.4GHz) is bet...

With a demand of only 5Mbps and rural position, what about 2.4GHz? Single pol omni antenna 12-15dbi and 11n 1x1? Even 11b will give 5Mbps.

LHG in snowstorm

Looking at LHG 5ghz units for some remote clients in a mountain area, and wonder how they works (physically) in areas with much snow and wind? Are the plastic strong enough? Does it fill up with snow?
