Re: Timeout when upgrading

So to sum up: 1. Incomming PPTP conection to PPTP server is treated as forwarding? to somewhere inside, needs proto 47 (PPTP pass-through) in INPUT chain for successful connection/tunnel or it hits DROP rule in INPUT chain. 2. Outgoing connection to Mikrotik servers is treated as INCOMING connection...

Re: Timeout when upgrading

I have a "ERROR: connection timed out" problem on hEX (RouterBOARD 750G r3) when I try to update via "Check for Updates". It started recently, I tried to update from 6.42.6 and it failed. It all started when suddenly connection to my PPTP server on that system from my home Mikrot...

Re: RB751G-2HnD corrupt gzip .. cannot get netinstall

Ok, I flashed it to 6.6 and now I can connect with Winbox without problems.

I used a ftp upload of the npk file to the unit and then rebooted the unit and that was it.

Re: RB600A, 11n, Dual-pol, real speed <25Mbps

OK, we found the culprit.

It seams they have some shity network router in their NOC unable to pass more then 25Mbps of traffic.
I do not know if this is because of some malfunction or it is old, but they tested within the NOC and stumbled on it.

Thanks all for reading and responding.

Re: RB600A, 11n, Dual-pol, real speed <25Mbps

I am going to put together relevant data tomorrow and post it.

Please notice that I am talking about ROUTED network, no WDS or BRIDGE, as most people use them.

Re: RB600A, 11n, Dual-pol, real speed <25Mbps

No, no MT boards of any sort handy. It was done for a company that demanded MT gear. I use StarOS on my network on X86-PC or ALIX. I know it by heart. I can also find my way arround MT/RO very well, on both Winbox and terminal/ssh, but lack first hand experience with different hardware. RB600A were ...

RB600A, 11n, Dual-pol, real speed <25Mbps

Hi. I need to know if RB600A to RB600A with ROUTED (no WDS) 11n link can push more than 22-25Mbps of tcp packets. I have -62 signal on both chains (switching pigtails keeps same signal levels), Compex WLM200N5-23-ESD radios on both ends with 1m LMR-400 cables, 30cm Pigtails and Dual-pol panels 17dB ...

Re: Mikrotik restore missing NAT rules

First of all, Please note that this happend on 3.2x version, I would guess from 2009. Absolutely everithing else was there, we checked, only NAT rules where missing. Backup from 2009 (I guess before router was upgraded to that 3.2x version) had those NAT rules. I uploaded that old backup to another ...

Re: Mikrotik restore missing NAT rules

Doug, OP's post is 2 years old. I've had it happen last night (GMT+1). Backup files were on the same unit, never leaving it. I even pulled backup files accross the network and loaded up to RB600A with 5.10 but it also failed to show any NAT rules. There were 2 backup files taken 20 minutes appart. F...

Re: Mikrotik restore missing NAT rules

No, it's not. How can backups be affected by this? Information doesn't magically go missing from completely unrelated files (that are hopefully stored on a separate system). It seams it can. I just had an incident with old 3.22 version that ate NAT rules. 2-3 backups I have done for security all sh...
