Re: Dude connects to ROS devices every minute and then disconnects

Is now Sept 2024 and I have Dude version 6.49.14 on a RB450Gx4 and have the same issue of the logs filling up 27 lines in a minute in my monitored other Mikrotik devices. As a fix work around what I notice is that I can disable in the Dude the "Router OS" by removing the check/tick per dev...

Re: disable reset button

Since version OS 6.47 Mikrotik has added a software option to be able to disable the hardware button > system routerboard reset-button set enabled=no (or yes). Typical Mikrotik WiKi documentation does not clearly state what exactly yes and no mean, so maybe assume that No means one cannot reset the ...

I use the Huawei BBU15-D-T on an OmniTik5 without any PoEout being used but eth1 and eth2 are connected to another Mikrotik, have 20 units of the Huawei BBU15-D-T and 5 of them have started flashing the red fault light and then non operational, replacing the batteries does not help, if anybody has t...

Re: OSPFv2 neighbor x.x.x.x: state change from Full to Down

Also, confirm your OSFP hello-timer just to triple check it's still at the default of 10s. An alternative is to use a GRE tunnel which would traverse the radio link without any fear of multicast packet being molested or lost and allow multicast to work properly. Still it may be far simpler to chang...

Re: RB2011 Power Adapter Woes

Same goes for me with various 24vdc power adapters that are supplied for SXTsq5ac rounded shaped 24vdc power adapters, hAPac2 rectangle shaped adapters, and for the LHGXLHP5 and RB2011. About 50% of the failures are due to bulging caps capacitors which typically fail after about 6 months or more and...

Re: DHCP client lease expires sometimes, no response from ISP DHCP

I am having exact same issue of not always getting a lease from ISP provider or that it takes too long causing a couple of minutes break or in worst case sometimes a half hour break, this after my ISP changed their modem for a different type, being a Genexis router/modem from Kablenoord Netherlands....

Re: Winbox2 and Winbox3 Differences pertinent to Windows10

You could have waited a few more years before asking... I no longer use WinBox2 2.2.18. 3.39 is better and have all previous problem fixed. The old feature (which one can say is not a problem to be fixed but considered as a downgrade?) is not in the new WinBox3.39 which for me is the biggest issue ...

Hello rextended, I would love to know how you got Winbox2 working on Windows10? Also error messages that come up with an Ok button also not cl...

Winbox V2 does indeed still work with the latest 6.x OS. The issue "Missing RouterOS WinBox plugins" is a known issue when using a MAC address to connect, repeat a few times and will adventurously get the plugin and or use the IP address instead which works first time. In any case I have f...

Re: Why is nv2 so much slower than 802.11?

What I miss here in these Mikrotik comments about 802.11 being faster on a point-to-point link is the any mention of distance. So for sure any distance under 1km then 802.11 is faster, but when getting into longer 10km links then you may be better trying nv2, as I suspect because 802.11 is not built...

nstreme and nv2 tend to work better for more than 1km (0.6 miles). So under 1km you should try to use 802.11 and the with the Wireless Distance indoor setting, not the dynamic then, all be it with 802.11 the distance setting on dynamic seems not to make much difference under 1km. Guess under 1km (0....

Re: LHG XL 52 ac - How does the advertised bonding/failover work?

There are 2 ways to achieve fail-over, Mikrotik has setup the simplest method in their LHGXL52ac factory default configuration, that is then RSTP (STP tab) which is a system that toggles (switches) itself between available interfaces in its bridge. So the RSTP is designed to stop looping, the RSTP i...
