Can Mikrotik be used as a DPI

Hi all,

I wonder if Mikrotik can be used as DPI.

I want to identify torrent traffic and want them to use another path to internet. I don't want to block or throttle them, but to make them use only one of my multiple upstream links.

Thanks

Torrent - Encouraging Local Peer Exchange

Hi,

Is there a way where an ISP can encourage local peer exchange if the border router & NAS is mikrotik?

Thanks and regards,

Re: Routing Help

Is this IP 11.0.0.1 from your internet provider ? Or is your private address ?
It is private address.

I have been able to solve the issue, just had to give p.q.r.193 in pref source of the static route to 0.0.0.0.

Thanks for the help.

What is the size of 'Only hardware queue'?

Hello all, I am running a WISP and use Mikrotik RB450G as NAS and my bandwidth pipe from the upstream provider is nearing choke. I wanted to find out what is the size of 'Only-hardware-queue' on RB450G so that I can design a new queue to hold more packets than the hardware queue. Thanks and regards,

http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Supported ... less_cards

The wiki page says that XR2 is only supported in RB433

Can you confirm that it is supported?

Thanks and regards,

x86 - best card?

Hello Everybody.

Which is the best 802.11 b/g card for use with RouterOS installed in a PC for a WISP.

Ubiquity XR2 seems to be one but it is not supported in x86 according to supported hardware list on wiki.

Thanks and regards,
