Re: IPv6 over PPPoE

Using Wireshark, watching the traffic between the MT server and the EA3500, we see the EA3500 asking for a non-temporary address and prefix. However, the MT server returns only the prefix and no address. According to RFC 6204, if the EA3500 does not receive an address, then it is not supposed to adv...

IPv6 over PPPoE

If I have two MT boxes, one setup up as an IPv4 PPPoE server and the other as an IPv4 PPPoE client, I can add IPv6 to this connection by simply adding DHCPv6 to the PPPoE tunnel. First I create an IPv6 pool on the server with my desired Prefix (>/64) and a Prefix Length of 64. Then in the PPPoE serv...

Hostspot fails to retry radius mac authentication

At least twice a day our hotspot, which uses MAC authentication via radius, fails to authenticate a valid user on the first attempt. This results in the user being in the hotspot's host list but not in the active list. Every time thereafter when the user attempts to connect to the network, the route...

Services do not work on WAN of RB750UP

I'm using the RB750UP as a bandwidth shaper for a small office building, so I removed the default setup including all firewall rules and created some simple queues and static routes. I can use Winbox on the switch interface but not the WAN interface. On the switch interface, I use the default addres...

Switching port to VLAN on trunk

I have an RB750UP with RouterOS v5.14 and I've removed (I believe) the default router setup. I have a trunk line coming from a switch with multiple VLAN's to ether1, but am only interested in VLAN15 with ID 15. On ether2 I have servers that I want to access from VLAN15. My end goal is to shape the b...

Re: PPPoE and non-PPPoE on same interface

Just figured out one solution. I added a static route to the DSLAM's management interface. The destination address was the IP address of the DSLAM and the Gateway was the Ethernet Interface.

PPPoE and non-PPPoE on same interface

In an apartment complex I have a DSLAM that is connected to a router's Ethernet port. On the Ethernet interface I've added a PPPoE Server using a pool of internet routable addresses. However, I need to be able to access the DSLAM's management interface on the same Ethernet interface being used by th...
