Hardware for Traffic Shaping ~500mbps

Hi Everyone, I am looking for a recommendation for hardware that is capable of doing traffic shaping on a line that is about 500dn/100up without choking. I currently have a 300/20 link and am using other vendor hardware that employs hardware offloading that is reaching it's limit due to QOS turning ...

Re: Shaping 300/50 Traffic

Thank you for your answer. Do you think the cpu would keep up when adding QOS? Can you try adding a queue limiting at 300mbps on the download and see if it is still able to keep up?

Shaping 300/50 Traffic

Hi Everyone, I am looking to buy an appropriate Mikrotik router for a 300/50 connection for which I am looking to do traffic shaping. I am thinking something in the 3011 or 1100ahx2 range should be sufficient. I am hoping to get by with a 3011, but am looking for your advice. I have experience with ...

Re: RB850Gx2 Expected Performance

Mikrotik Staff, Can you comment about when you might publish performance data for the 850Gx2 on routerboard.com? Most of your other routers have published performance charts at the bottom of the product page. I understand it should be faster than a 450G, but making a quantitative statement would be ...

Re: RB850Gx2 Expected Performance

I have actually tried the ER3L. Even though it does have hardware offloading of forwarding, queuing is all done in software. With the ER3Lite, shaping of traffic maxs out the CPU at about 95mbits. This was actually confirmed my their support. This is why I'm looking at the 850Gx2.

Re: RB850Gx2 Expected Performance

Thank you for the response. Would you know if it is 300mbps just nat'd throughput or will it be able to do 300mbps with the kind of queuing I have set up?

RB850Gx2 Expected Performance

Hi Everyone, I have a quick question about the performance of the new 850Gx2. I am currently running an RB450G at 800MHz. I currently have a 130mbps/12mbps pipe, and am going to upgrade to something closer to 175/20. With the below configuration and it running at 800MHz, the CPU hits about 85-90% ut...

Re: 6.24 released

The no-mark parameter for queue trees is not working for me. Reboots router as well when trying to change the parameter. Please fix if possible!

Re: Hairpin NAT and misc questions

Not to hijack, but I have a very similar question. I am using dyndns.org and would like to be able to hit my internal services from computers by typing "myaddress.dyndns.org". Does this mean I need to add a rule for every port I have forwarded? Basically, I have a NAS sitting at 192.168.15...

Port forwarding with dynamic WAN IP

I have a 450G running 5.0 and my internet service that provides a dynamic IP. I also have several ports forward to an internal computer. My question is how do I go about settings these up so they don't get messed up every time my WAN IP changes? I read through the wiki, and it states you have to spe...
