Re: 📣 WinBox 4 is here 📣

Would be really nice if we also get genuine mac-telnet text mode application from Mikrotik... Second this There has been progress with the community version. It's back working now. But not being directly from MikroTik, it's subject to breaking without notice at anytime, and no ETA on fix. Not the c...

Thanks for WinBox 4. Re: Wifi6 unusable on Archlinux

Try setting channel width to 20 MHz. And skip DFS setting shouldn’t even apply to 2.4. Remove if possible (just for a cleaner looking config). If you can’t, no big deal, it won’t have any affect for 2.4. DFS is 5 GHz.

Re: Disable Packages in RouterOS v7

I forgot about device mode. It doesn't fully cover everything packages did. It also doesn't fully disable services. It protects config changes to the specified features. If it's not possible to disable packages due to new way of doing things in v7; it would be nice if MikroTik expands on device-mode...

Disable Packages in RouterOS v7

Will v7 get the ability to disable packages again like v6 had? I know the option to hide it through skins exists. But there are several reasons why disabling can be more beneficial to some uses. Disabling packages is easier and faster to do than skinning. (subjective) Actually turning of services/da...

It would be nice to have a rackmount version of the netPower 16P. Also it would be nice to have a CRS3xx version of the CRS112-8P-4S-IN with 4x SFP+ ports. These would complement the existing CRS328-24P-4S+RM & CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM So you would have: CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM CRS328-24P-4S+RM CRS318-16...

Re: Mikrotik,pihole & unbound. [SOLVED]

I think I understand better why the flow looks like there is a loop. You want the MikroTik to use DoH right? You could add DoH to pihole. But yea out the box newer versions of MikroTik support it directly. I think pihole is still in development for DoH. So it’s a littler easier to use MikroTik for D...

Re: Using RouterOS to QoS your network - 2020 Edition

First off, nice work pcunite. That's a lot of effort you put in and very well documented. Here is something I was thinking of. If you trust the DSCP markings applied by the devices on your network. Typically you can unless your devices are compromised. You could first check to see if the device is a...

Feature Request - Use appropriate data set for graphs display date range selection

I have a fairly large disk space allocated to my dude server. I'm running on a CHR. I would like to keep as much data as possible for each data source. I was keeping raw data for up to 3 years, but when viewing in the scale of 365 days it would be too much data causing the chart not to be easily rea...

Quick correction. You don't need to install Xquartz anymore. Not sure when WinBottler stopped needing. Just old habit from when I first did it many years ago. It might be needed for certain applications as Wine still suggests it as an optional install it on their website. But for WinBox it's not nee...

This method retains the icon and creates a .app file for you. As well this way doesn't have the addresses.wbx import bug. I believe the 64 bit edits are because of a bug. So normally you wouldn't have to do that. Might eventually get fixed. Otherwise it would be a Next, Next, click based install.

Watching one of my routers, I see ether1, ether2, ether3, & ether4 drop to nothing. Both in Tx & Rx for both Bytes and Packets. ether5, ether6, ether7 & ether8 don't experience this same drop. So my thought is this must be a bad switch chip? This is a brand new router. Should I try to RM...

Re: CRS Pass packet to CPU

First thing I do with every MikroTik I do is remove the default config and strip to no settings. It's not going to be doing a lot of routing. It will be a Single WAN connection coming into it at 10-20 Mbps down / 1-2 Mbps up. And it won't be constantly pegging that connection out. So I'm sure any co...

Thanks, that helps get a better understanding. I'm not concerned about wire speed because the reasoning by sending it to the CPU is to block the traffic between them. So the speed between them should be none. I didn't setup Master or Slave ports. Everything you describe makes sense. I was getting L3...
