Have you considered a Mikrotik GrooveA 52 with high gain 2.4GHz external aerial?
Paired with a RFI CD2409 aerial it will give you good range outside the vehicle.

As for Grove 52, would 5 GHz work on that device? - I feel it makes more sense to get ubiquity on 2 and 5 GHz for spectral scanning than MT, however better (more precise) the Dude scanning is.

Shutdown the CHR and increase the HD size in ESXi allocated to the CHR. Restart the CHR and it should automatically pick up the increased disk size. You could also add another virtual drive in ESXi for the Dude files. This will stop it over running and crashing the router when it runs out of space.

The voltage readout says 23.7v, so It can't be the psu.

Any thoughts?
Don't dismiss a PSU fault unless you've swapped it out. When the caps in the PSU go bad there can be high ripple on the power line causing unstable operation.

Can this be done with just 1 router and one managed switch (with VLANS at switch level)? And then further switch and an AP at each house obviously.
You could do this with just one router, a RB1100AHx4. Does the ISP provide a copper ethernet connection to their NTU?

Connect your PC to a switch with nothing else except the RB2011 router. Windows sometimes won't bring up the ethernet interface without a link. This most often assists with Netinstall restoration.

Re: Low gain outdoor dual pole antenna

Mikrotik mANT-15s is just one possible solution that meets the requirements of the OP. 1. Dual Pol. 2. Smaller than 30dBi dish. 3. suitable for short hop. I would use a Biquad in this situation but it's not dual Pol. Reusing the Netmetal is another requirement the OP has. You can mount the panel at ...

Re: Wireless channels problem

I tried frequency usage and this is it:

I can't connect to 2432, 2437, 2442, 2447 MHz.
2427 and 2452 MHz are fine.
The scan shows the channels you are not able to connect on are in use.

Re: The Dude without windows

This vmdk come in preset 128mb space and I can't find a way to increase that size. According to janisk wrote: on x86 (non-chr) it formats the disk and tries to use entire disk when installing. CHR is for virtual machines and the assumption is that it is running on the virtual disk, that can be expa...

hEX PoE https://routerboard.com/RB960PGS
Supported input voltage 12 V - 57 V
PoE out 802.3at
PoE in 802.3at

Is this true? Active POE on the output for cameras and phones.

Re: Self-Supporting Towers

I'm looking for a self-supporting tower in the range of 40-60 foot.
That's utility pole size. Given the quantity of utility poles these would be more competitively priced and have a greater rang of suppliers.

Re: Guest network can ping google.com, but not browse

Could it be a problem with MTU size? How can I change that?
I've seen it happen a few times with MTU mismatch. Ping works for small packets but browsing is very slow and Skype and some other apps completely fail to connect.

I am unable to Winbox into the RB2011. How can I do this?
If you've forgotten the RouterOS password it can only be reset by reinstalling the router -

Re: Optimize short ptp SXT AC

Do you think i can obtain more from this wireless ptp link? I attach a screen of the link status, sorry to didn't post before and thanks again for your help. Andrea. The different RX levels on Chain0/1 sometimes indicate poor alignment and/or partially obstructed path. For instance the radios are t...

Re: Rural outdoor 4G / LTE Setup

What I'd like to do is build an outdoor router that has a 4G card in it that can interface into an external 4G antenna (so that I can get something up in the air in the corner of my land that I get a signal to hopefully improve it). The land is approx 1 acre, its a square with a few tress on the ed...

Re: PtMP 4km Advice

Radio C will have variable ping and traffic latency when it has to receive A then re-transmit on to B. To improve the performance put another LHG5 at point C for the path A-C. Pings vary also when the links are idle. The wireless router at C is causing your throughput issue. It has to buffer the in...

Re: Is it possible to change tunnel port?

Try a SSTP tunnel -
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/SSTP
The use of TLS over TCP port 443 allows SSTP to pass through virtually all firewalls and proxy servers.

Open Winbox and look at the Firewall filter rules on the router as you attempt to log in. The counters will show you what rule effecting the connection.

Re: tx power under 0dBm

Hello, I would like to use "mANT30", but in my country (Czech Republic) the maximum EIRP in 5500-5700 MHz is about 27dBm. According to manual there is an option to set negative power in dBm (-30 .. 30), which will effectively solve the problem (transmit power between 1um and 1W). Dependin...
