After you aimed with gps did you the fine tune the link? Also at a 1/4 mile your fresnel zone is around twenty feet so any little hills in between your house and his will directly block the link. Definitely raise the tower end as high as you can and have another person watch the signal strength whil...

Re: Simple routing question

Are the clients on the 192.0.0.0/24 subnet receiving 192.0.0.1 as a default gateway? If so, this should work. Also, best practice is to use RFC1918 addresses for internal use instead of picking random IP's. Yes clients on 192.0.0.0/24 are using 192.0.0.1 as default gateway so on and so forth. My or...

Simple routing question

I have an rb750gl.
Port 1 is Wan
Port 2 is 192.0.0.1 with DHCP enabled
Port 3 is 192.0.1.1 with DHCP enabled
port 4 is 192.0.2.1 with DHCP enabled
Port 5 is nothing.

I need 192.0.0.16 to be able to ping/telnet into 192.0.2.5.
How the heck can I make that happen?

Re: More RB750 questions

So there was a trick to accomplishing what I wanted... I had to set the "master" to none on the ports I wanted to setup with a different ip / dhcpd server etc. now that I have figured that out I love these things!

I'm running into this same issue.
Putty 0.61
Routeros 5.7
SSH Tunnel port 8080 to port 80
when ever I open chrome or IE to that port I get:
"Strange packet received: type 3 and disconnect.

Brand new RB750GL bricked while flashing 5.2 to 5.7?

I went to the download page, selected rb700 series, clicked zip file, downloaded. Unzipped the download. Fired up winbox, dragged and dropped the files into the files menu. Once the upload completed I selected the shutdown option. Once the lights went out I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Once ...

So i can take an RB750, run a wan connection into port 1, run a hotspot off of port 2 (with its own DHCP server) and a totally separate network (with another DHCP server) off ports 3, 4, and 5?

Re: Help me secure my hotspot from internal network, Please!

Awesome! That is what i was thinking...
So lets say the hotspot network is 192.168.88.x
and the internal network is 10.1.10.x

I would need to install an accept rule to allow traffic to the gateway yes?
so 10.1.10.1 accept
Then
10.1.10.0/24 reject

Keep in mind this is my first RouterOS device.

How to change hotspot from user/pass to click accept

I've been looking thru the documents,
Basically I want this to be a public hotspot, so instead of providing
user/pass I just want them to see a simple AUP and click agree.

Can someone point me to the article outlining that? or least tell me what it would be called?

Need to create a hotspot separate from the internal network

Attached is a basic sketch of what I was planning. I need to create two networks, one for an IP camera and server and one for a hotspot. The Server will be connected via ethernet to the router used at the cable modem. The IP camera and hotspot will be in a remote structure connected via a pair of UB...
