USB storage changing disks on upgrade

I have a CCR1009-8G-1S with an external USB storage device. I have configured the router to have the Dude database stored on the external device but every time a new firmware version is installed the USB storage device changes from disk1 to disk2 and vice versa. How do I stop this from happening as ...

Re: Martian packets

Hi sindy, Thanks for your reply and the comment regarding the to-address parameter. I haven't added that to my rule but it does appear when you do a /ip firewall nat export. I don't think it is the Omnitik that is sending the packets as the source address is 192.168.86.xxx and the destination addres...

Martian packets

I have a number of Mikrotik mAP2n boxes running a hotspot server, each connected to an SXT Lite which connects to an Omnitik which has the internet connection. The Omnitik acts as a DHCP server handing out addresses in the range 10.0.0.0/24. The SXT Lites and mAP2ns all use DHCP client to obtain an ...

Re: v6.41.1 [current]

All my RBmAP2n devices that were running a hotspot with a customised set of files have been reset to the default hotspot setup. The customisations were all stored in a directory under /flash but since the upgrade, the subdirectory has disappeared (though /flash is still there) and I now have a new r...

Re: The Dude, v6.38 [current] release.

I have just upgraded to 6.38.3 and have noticed a change in behaviour regarding devices that have parents that are down. My scenario is this: I have an AP connected to a CPE. The AP has designated the CPE as its parent. Previously if the CPE (and therefore the AP) were down the CPE would show in red...

Re: The Dude, v6.37 [current] release.

Having problems running a Ping from the client to a monitored device. It works fine from the V3 dude client but from the current client I get the following message:

socket failed: 10013:An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions.

Thanks

Re: Wireless product max distance

Hi Normis,

Any chance of one of the nice PDF sheets for the mANTbox 15 as well for comparison (maybe as a second page to the mANTbox 19 one) :D

Thanks

RoMON and SNMP

Hi,

Does anyone know if it possible to get the RoMON status (enabled/disabled) via SNMP and if so what the OID for it is?

Thanks

Re: v6.29 released

I have just tried to upgrade a number of my devices and part way through the latest version changed from 6.29 to 6.29.1 (which I understand is a quick patch that has been released) but now the latest version is showing as 6.28????? Has 6.29(.1) been pulled? EDIT: and 5 minutes later it is back again...

Re: v6.29 released

Hi, Just upgraded an RB951Ui-2HnD and it is now rebooting every hour with an out of memory condition. It is configured as a hotspot server with RADIUS authentication and ovpn-client to the radius server but is running on a test bench with no clients connecting. After a reboot, if I leave inbox conne...

RB951 LEDs

Hi, I am trying to turn off all the LEDS on the RB951-2n that is in my bedroom. I have looked at the wiki ( http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:System/LEDS ) and tried the example shown there but can only seem to control the user-led. When I type: /system leds add leds=led1 type=off I get the error...

Console print command column layout

No matter how much I expand the width of the console terminal the IDENTITY column remains the same width and only the ADDRESS column...

Re: Odd value showing in Resources view on RB951-2n

Hi Dobby, I am using the router as an AP in holiday villas. The network setup has an RB951 in each villa configured as an AP with hotspot and external RADIUS authentication. The ether1-gateway is connected to an SXT-5HPnD on the roof (in bridge mode) linking back to an Omnitk on the roof of the vill...

Re: Odd value showing in Resources view on RB951-2n

The RB951 will occasionally totally lock-up and won't respond on any interface (wlan, ether or the ovpn client to the monitoring server). Only thing that can be done then is to remove the power, plug it back in and everything is fine again until it locks up again. Odd thing is it is only affecting a...

Re: Odd value showing in Resources view on RB951-2n

Thanks for your comments - makes me feel a lot better! I got the first box back last night and ran the Netinstall and the Total Sector Writes is now showing a much more sensible figure :D I'll now do a rolling swap out with the others until they're all done and fingers crossed they all install as ea...

Re: Odd value showing in Resources view on RB951-2n

Should have done some research before posting this - Seems like a Netinstall is needed (http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=66649) so will try this and hopefully will resolve the issue (and the lockups at the same time :D )

Sorry if I wasted anyones time

Odd value showing in Resources view on RB951-2n

Hi, I have been having issues with RB951-2n boxes becoming unresponsive and not getting reset by the watchdog timer so have been checking all the settings to see if there is anything amiss and I found a number of boxes that show a REALLY huge number in the Total Sector Writes and it also doesn't loo...

Q.931 and RAS connection types

Hi, When I look at the active connections using /ip firewall connection print detail I see there is a connection from my VOIP phone that has a "connection-type" of Q.931. I want to set up QOS for this but cannot seem to use Q.931 in the connection-type for the mangle rule as it is not avai...
