Re: Wireless p2p link low throughput

Thanks guys that's just the info i was looking for. next i'll try something like you linked me to there (wish i had seen that before!) looks very interesting. upon closer looking today, i noticed my link speeds are 150/135mbps. which would indicate i only have one chain in operation.. woops! as for ...

Wireless p2p link low throughput

I've been using mikrotik routers for a couple years now.. love them recently though i've been looking for a higher performance alternative (than ubiquiti) for 5ghz p2p links, and i've heard some peoples tales of great performance with mikrotik radios. SO, i bought a pair of SXT 5HPnD units, set up a...

Re: SNMP doesn't work with asymmetric routes?

rhauf - yes I understand pointing snmp at the remote tx address - trouble is it only works when that link is active - as soon as the active path changes, it stops. jklpl - As for EoIP not being efficient - does it really matter? How much snmp data can one possibly need to retrieve from one site? Do...

Re: SNMP doesn't work with asymmetric routes?

Awesome just what i needed. Thank you., Is there any other posibility to cheat Mikrotik RouterOS? ...EoIPs are not efficient I found an easier workaround. just set the device IP in dude to the gateway IP of one of the link legs on the route back to the dude server (i set it to the "tx" le...

SNMP doesn't work with asymmetric routes?

On many of my backhaul links, I have dual links with staggered link costs, (say, 10 and 12) to give me a dedicated upload and download link. I also use SMNP for voltage monitoring in dude (low voltage email warnings for solar gear, graphing, etc) this works great, but for some reason the SNMP monito...

Re: Cant set MTU above 1520 on RB450g

This article contains the table of max supported MTUs for each board http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Maximum_Transmission_Unit_on_RouterBoards#MAC.2FLayer-2.2FL2_MTU Some of the chipsets do not support more than 1520. Thanks for the link :) I see the RB450g (as all of my routers are) support o...

Cant set MTU above 1520 on RB450g

I have a handfull of 450g's in my network, I have a need for MTU of 1522. on some of my 450g routers, i can set MTU as high as 1524, while on others i can only set it to 1520. I noticed the ones which let me do 1524 have firmware 5.2 or 5.6, and the others which only allow 1520 have firmware 5.19 (w...

Re: Voltage monitoring with 450G.. and the dude?

I had noticed that the voltage readings were often a volt or two lower than what i'd measure with a volt meter (At the jack). I found some information on correcting it, but as long as i know how much off it is, i can just set the warnings appropriately on a per router basis, so that really isn't a p...

Re: Voltage monitoring with 450G.. and the dude?

Ok well I'm stuck again, I figured out how to set up voltage display on the device tag, and how to set a probe alert when it drops below a given threshold... now I'm wondering, is there a way with dude to graph the voltage level over time? like it does with latency and stuff? that way i can get an i...

Okay so i have the oid now, but I'm a bit of a dude noob.. can't find the oid monitor?

edit: oooohhh.. i guess i should have tried a little first, SNMP under probes.. nice :)

throughput capabilities

I'm building a backhaul which i'd like to be able to handle 100-150 mbps throughput peaks. It's in an OSPF network running MPLS. i'll be using the link bonding (round robin) to put together 3 wireless links between the towers. i don't have much experience with high throughput applications and i want...

Voltage monitoring with 450G.. and the dude?

I have a number of solar sites set up, all have direct powered RB450g's in them, which have a handy-dandy voltage monitor i can check from winbox. I'd like to be able to set up the dude to monitor it, and email me if voltage drops below a specified threshold. graphing and logging of the voltage thro...

Re: Split downlink and uplink?

just build 2 links, use a routerboard on each and use OSPF to weight the links so that one is A>B and the other is B>A. Set the MTU on the radio links high, then EoIP tunnel between the routers and raise the MTU to 1500, bridge the EoIP tunnel with an Ethernet interface on each side. Done But how c...

Re: New to Mikrotik, setting up OSPF on my Wisp

Thanks Janisk, I have read through that Wiki but I'm a bit novice when it comes to routing so much of it is over my head at this point. Currently I have around 35 mbps total throughput during peak hours, although as we are growing this number has been steadily rising. I'd like to build with room to ...

New to Mikrotik, setting up OSPF on my Wisp

Hi all, I've been hearing great things about Mikrotik routers for some time now and Its time i stepped up to the next level and routed my network. I currently have a wireless network (mostly ubiquiti) with about 15 repeater towers. everything is bridged (layer 2) at the moment. I think what i need n...
