Re: RB1100x4 not accessible!

Think you are going to need to get this on your bench for testing.

Hope you find some local to client help. Another thought is to ship out a spare router there overnight and get this 1100 back to you for testing. Beats going there in person I think.

A thought comes to mind to post the geographic location of the client and contract with a local mikrotik aware person to be your onsite assistant.

Re: Power Source for Temp Remote Location

Sure thing, if I get there, lots of research to do first before forging ahead. If I had 3-12v batteries in series I could attach both the DC switch and an AC converter for the laptop. The laptop has its own battery which should be able to run for some time before needing the backup juice. Something...

Re: Power Source for Temp Remote Location

Hi villageworker, does that mean I can ignore the need for a male plug adapter altogether and simply plug an ethernet cable from the dc switch into the antenna/cpe? If I still needed laptop power for example, how would I go about that from outputs available on the switch? Yes. A typical use case fo...

Re: Power Source for Temp Remote Location

If you need an 'official solution' go with Netonix DC switch. Will increase your power budget though.

Re: Basic home setup but can't get it to work

As you modem/router is working I suggest not making any configuration changes on that device. Your options are to follow what Anav has explained or do a comlete reset of the HAP to factory configuration. Only after you have a working system add configuration changes you desire. The answer to your ot...

Re: Basic home setup but can't get it to work

Having the same IP address range as your upstream provider, in this case your ISP modem/router, will most likely not work. I will let others comment about this.

Re: Basic home setup but can't get it to work

Try the following:

- Remove ether1 from bridge.

change
/ip address
add address=192.168.2.5/24 comment=defconf interface=ether2 network=\
192.168.2.0

to

/ip address
add address=192.168.2.1/24 comment=defconf interface=bridge network=\
192.168.2.0

Re: Basic home setup but can't get it to work

Then I have a bridge with the ports :
- ether 1
- ether 2
- ether 3
- ether 4
- ether 5
- WLAN (2Ghz)
- WLAN (5Ghz)

Take ether 1 out of the bridge and then post config without sensitive information.

Yes, your are right. Copying is only available on th user Iinterface button and yes we lose the history on the copy.

I agree with you that an 'alias' type of concept for map elements would be beneficial.
