Re: mDNS repeater feature

+1 for the mDNS feature also.
Landed here from google.

I am having my IoT devices in a separate VLAN and encounter difficulties managing those with Home Assistant software.

I am baffled that there are no real geeks on Mikrotik side to understand the need for mDNS.

Cheers!

Re: DoH memory bug.

*Leaving this here for the next internet soul trying to search for a solution. This bug seems to be fixed in v6.49. Personally, I have a lot of issues with 7.x version, so if you want to run v6, then this is the minimal version to install. I'm running v6.49.6 for 2 days now and it looks good. Cheers...

Re: mynetname.net is suspended

You are a liitle too harsh. 90% of the ransomware out there runs on aws/azure/openstack/etc public providers. That is a simple DDNS service; no real way of checking how those are used. I am not that impacted (only 14 customers compared to hundreds or more as I've read in other people's posts), but I...

Re: IP Cloud

Hello,
Is IP CLOUD service down?
I have several mikrotiks that report that everything is ok, but the DDNS addresses do not resolve to.
For ex : 914f08fd6035.sn.mynetname.net and 96890a7c11e3.sn.mynetname.net
Cheers!

Re: Block Anydesk

Here's what worked for me :

1. redirect to router the DNS querys on port 53 udp and tcp .
2. add stаtic record with regexp - ^(.*)(anydesk)(.*)$ and address 127.0.0.1 .

Problem solved. Did not see any traffic to hard-coded IPs. Tested with latest AnyDesk version.

this is the OID I use :

.1.3.6.1.4.1.14988.1.1.1.2.1.1

It returns number of MAC addresses of the clients connected. It returns an error if no client is connected.

Re: CRS226-24G-2S+ Poor routing performance

Hammer, Thanks for the tests. I can confirm 6.15 has a much higher throughput on my CRS125-24G-1S than latest 6.27. I had some time to waste, so I went through all RouterOS versions from 6.15 to 6.27 to see where it broke : 6.21 is where I lose 50% from performance. Maybe someone from Mikrotik will ...

I'll post this for anyone searching for the same issue.
Looks like Prefix value in logging is not for matching log strings. It only appends value to log string.

So, I got the functionality wrong.

Re: IPSec/L2TP VPN on Mikrotik behind NAT but with FQDN

it works. I tested this with a win7 client. IPSEC is on a NAT-ed synology NAS. On mikrotik, fw UPD port 500, 1701 and 4500 to the IPSEC vpn server. on windows client this also needs to be configured : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926179 set it to 2. I just spent a few hours trying to figure this ...

Re: Availability of the RB751G

I'm searching for a b/g/n wireless router with giga ports, decent CPU power and at least 2x2 MIMO. This is exactly RB751G. If it only had a 680 mhz CPU. Is this 400mhz CPU overclockable?

Re: Availability of the RB751G

RB750GL also doesn't have such CPU, it has 400MHz. The CPU frequency is not the only measurement of speed, for any type of computer. I'm talking about RB750G not the inferior RB750GL model. RB750G was a killer at his specs. I think there was some pressure on Mikrotik to stop manufacturing and selli...

i searched and searched. i'm sure I saw 680 mhz whn you first announced it 1 year ago. maybe it's just me. i thought it makes more sense to put a 680 mhz cpu in there. like the rb 750/750g. well ..you won't kick all soho router's butt anymore.
