Re: Special characters in password

Hi,
It turned out special characters aren't a problem. I was just about to reset the config when I decided to try the old "turn it off and on again" solution and it worked!
It booted up and I'm able to login again.
Yay!

I would like to avoid resetting it if possible. I'm hoping there's a know issue and a workaround to it. The characters I have in the passwor...

maybe this wiki can help http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/L2TP_%2B_ ... ik_routers

scroll down to client side section (I know you don't have two mikrotiks, but maybe you get a good idea from this)

you should be able to do this by default if i'm not mistaken... can you ping IPs in the same subnet (hosts on your local network)? any other routers in the network? what is gateway on hosts in your local network?

STP is an industry standard protocol so it should work no matter what vendor... try searching the forums and wiki (STP failover, STP redundancy)

Re: RB-450G performs auto Fail-Over with the same gate way.

I still think STP is the way to go... you will have to create per-VLAN STPs (or MSTPs)... one that runs in your FiberOptic Ring VLAN and other between MikroTik and Drop Points... that way a loop creates and STP kills one line, the other being active until something goes wrong and the dead one goes a...

Re: 1 WAN with 3 external IP adresses and 3 LAN's with own r

hmmm, I don't know... never heard of that kind of a setup... maybe just make Mikrotik transparent bridging (bridge two ethernet ports with no IP addresses) and put static public IP on mail server... but that would be a security risk, because you would have no control over mail server connections com...

Re: 1 WAN with 3 external IP adresses and 3 LAN's with own r

How to bridge third external IP adress to Mail Server to make it just pass router to specific port. Your mail server still has to have a private IP address. I think you could do this by these commands: /ip firewall nat add chain=dstnat dst-address=30.0.0.1 action=netmap to-addresses=Private_IP_of_m...

if you are not using ether2-5 you can try deleting bridge-local and putting the IP address and DHCP Server on wlan1

anyway, why do you think moving the DHCP Server will fix issue with IPv6?

Re: Need help assigning public IP segments to customers

it depends on what you are doing if you are just routing between your customer and the ISP then you can just: if there is no switch: connect customer1 to ether1 ether1 address 201.158.19.17 and you tell your customer1 they have ip range 201.158.19.16/29 and gateway 201.158.19.17 the same goes for cu...

hi forum, this is my first post, although I have been reading the forum on several topics for many months now...
