Re: Help me understand the 750UP power output capabilities

Still dumb, due to the exact reason above. 5.2.1 would basically eliminate any possible misunderstandings. As most industry leaders have adopted :) Every time I see someone complaining about versioning I rage a little inside. Get used to it, as normis said: Apple does it, Linux does it (kernel numb...

Re: Mikrotik DNS server issues with Amazon S3 - low TTL 60se

i had it running for week (as in 7 days). i even hooked that laptop to a UPS will set up it once more in near future. Ive had it happen from anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks. Sorry, I know this isn't much info to go off of, but I don't really understand DNS queries enough to be of more help. I do kn...

Re: Help me understand the 750UP power output capabilities

new firmware where brought at 5.20 (five dot twenty) do not confuse RouterOS release numbering. Yeah yeah, you know what I meant though. PS that is a stupid way to number releases. Remit, this is industry standard to number releases. Apple does it, Linux does it (kernel numbers), Cisco does it. wik...

Re: Help me understand the 750UP power output capabilities

Thread necromacy. I see that 5.2 introduced a 1A limit per port. This would allow the powering of ubiquiti gear on a 12v site. Anyone test this yet?

Is it just me, or did this issue disappear? I have not made any changes, and I have not been able to reproduce this issue since my last post of emailing support.

Re: Mikrotik DNS server issues with Amazon S3 - low TTL 60se

How long have you been trouble free since switching away from Google DNS servers? Why would only tiks goof up using Google DNS, meanwhile my computer caches just fine?

Not sure I am reading it right, but your 1:1 rules need to be above your masq rules in the firewall->Nat

Re: Mikrotik DNS server issues with Amazon S3 - low TTL 60se

It seems to me like after a refresh, it takes DAYS, if not WEEKS to show up again. I flushed it yesterday, and still all is working properly. I will try to check it daily and get a timeline, and contact support as soon as it goofs again.

Re: Mikrotik DNS server issues with Amazon S3 - low TTL 60se

I see that a few people are caching googles DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). Any chance this is related? I am caching Google's DNS while experiencing this issue. Is anyone caching something else and seeing it too?

I can SHOW it to someone at Mikrotik any time they want. I have one site that one customer always complains about www.theoatmeal.com. Re: Help me understand the 750UP power output capabilities

also, about some comments for the thread that was linked to: newer boards use different voltage/temperature measurement system. All newer RouterBOARD models use that. RB750UP uses ATtiny to measure these values and is very accurate. RB450G uses older measurement schematic that was quite inaccurate....

Re: rb750up voltage monitoring

as far as i have tested RB750UP has very precise voltage monitor. Have you some devices powered by it?
I am seeing exactly the same results. Roughly .9 volts below the actual voltage on the DC jack. I have the same problem with RB450Gs (as do many others, as listed in a few threads).

Re: Help me understand the 750UP power output capabilities

limit on power out port is 500mA regardless of output voltage. so at 12V you will be able to power only MAX 6W device. Is the limit software controlled? Is there any way to disable it? I assume it is set well below the actual hardware safe output maximum. Having this limit renders the RB750UP compl...

Re: Mikrotik DNS server issues with Amazon S3 - low TTL 60se

YES! This is the exact problem a few of my customers have reported, and I have confirmed. It seems to have started about 3-4 months ago. Running 5.5 caching google's DNS servers.
