Max Filesize That can be handled by MT

Longtime no post. We have users downloading 4GB plus sized files. Our entire backend is made up of MT boxes. Problem is the download stops with the filesize reported as 0 and the status as completed! Before we complain to our upstream providers we need to know that this is not an MT issue. File down...

I had the exact same issue with 2.9.38 and pppoe clients. I had to remove queue tree and everything worked great. Customers still have their queue set by radius. MSS and MTU were all set. I went through everything on the router. After hours of testing it all came down the queuing. We use queuing fo...

Problems with MT PPPoE Client

We intend to use MT in a big way as a firewall/QoS/Access Control solution for our clients. Problem is that the PPPoE client in Mikrotik behaves strangely. The setup is as detailed. MailClient has a Valid IP and is routed through MT BOX-A. MT BOX-A gets connected to MT BOX-B as a PPPoE client using ...

Cant be done. As your PPPoE interface created for a client is in ITSELF regulated by the profile limits. As the interface itself is say 64/64 no way can you increase bandwidth to particluar sites. one way out will be to invert the limits. ie Have a profile limit of say 1024/1024 and then have trafic...

Well, you could workaround this ....

write a script to MOVE the static rule to top of the table. and schedule it to be run every hour.

this is a patch but will keep things working till MT comes up with a proper fix.

Do what we do. Determine the routes to most popular IP series on each ISP. Then policy route them as per the fastest link. Not the neatest method but this works. If you are going to continually assess latencies and then decide on the route, your MT and you will soon be in a loony bin.

4661?? Sounds like EDonkey. :D

We have noticed that EDonkey performance drops like hell when using private IP's. Are your clients on private IPs or on Public IPs?? If on Public IPs there should be no problem.

This could be a bug in EDonkey wherein it limits the number of clients from a single IP.

2. Use PCQ on your clients, not the PPPoE limits - you will have to use tree queues, consult the manual on how to do this. AFAIK, then you will be able to change limits on the fly.

You could masquerade all users on the MT and have a DST NAT redirect Port 80 to the SQUID on MT. Have MT SQUID size set to zero and parent proxy it to the EXTERNAL SQUID.

Then External SQUID will easily communicate to the MT SQUID, we thinks.
