Re: How to split bandwidth between two different devices

With just two users, maybe its best to just share......That way you can get 10mb or 2 or 3, but above 5.....If it has to be half, that is easy. Just set up a queue with 5mb each. Problem is when the "other guy" is not on, you will still get 5.

Re: Creating Hotspot

Ok, not a joke. The scale of what you are trying to do would require a very good professional at best. Not for a beginner by any stretch of the imagination. Also you are looking at $30,000+ not $3,000. You need some very expensive good gear, Now that being said, you could install some gear for $3000...

Re: Creating Hotspot

10,000 clients to start???? At 50 users per ap, that would be 200 ap's.....That would be a pretty large system for $3000.....Or is this someone from the forum playing a joke??????

Mainly a health check, finding out what is up to par and what is not. Recommend improvements etc and go from there.

Re: Need help. Willing to pay.

Well, my skills are very limited. I have a campground with a WIFI network I built myself. It works. I am using MT routers and ubiquiti radios. While it works for going on 5 years now, I am sure that if I knew more, it would work much better. I just really don't know what I am doing. I understand the...

Re: IP range for target in simple queue

I have a 75mb connection on this particular network. I have a nanostation M2 backhauled to Bullet M2 into ether 3. I have a rocket m2 with an omni in AP repeater mode that goes to two bullet M2. Right now we are busy and I have about 40 clients in the active window of the hotspot. I know about the r...

Re: IP range for target in simple queue

Ok, so that being the case, keeping them out of the DHCP and therefore my pcq queue is not going to solve my problem......Bummer, back to the drawing board.....I really don't know what my issue is now.

Re: IP range for target in simple queue

Not sure exactly what management stuff is. I set up one part of my campground which can have up to 100 users or more with 512K pcq with a little burst. Everything was fine, but we had a busy weekend, and I noticed you could get an IP, after a struggle, but with almost zero throughput. So it occured ...

Re: IP range for target in simple queue

Ok, I did the math and since the last part of the target is only 4 digits, there are only 15 combinations of binary......Ok cool I'll try that. I have another question now. I have an access point that is backhauled from another radio, both in bridge mode, and the MT router in pcq limiting to the who...

Re: IP range for target in simple queue

So what you are saying is that if i put the target as 192.168.88.0/28 (which maps to .0 - .15) and then make my dhcp pool, 192.168.88.16-254 I could have those 15 ips to myself????

IP range for target in simple queue

Is there a way to put an IP range in the target when making a simple queue. I am trying to bypass all my hardware (192.168.88.2-192.168.88.9) from my bandwidth limiting from the next queue. I guess I can do 8 different queue's but it seems something this common should be easier.

Re: Still gonna kill myself....Please help

Ok, is there anyway to do all in one queue. I does not allow me to put a range in the target. The camper queue is pcq target as the whole lan, which is the queue I want the hardware to bypass. Here is what I did, is this it, and what queue type should be selected on the advanced tab??? http://i.imgu...

Need help. Willing to pay.

Not sure where to post this, but I have a campground. I have setup all ubiquiti AP's and using RB750 and Hex for qos. I have setup a working situation, but I would like somebody with more know how to tweak it. I am certainly willing to pay the going rate. I am sure it could all be done remotely. I c...

Still gonna kill myself....Please help

I am trying to setup my hotspot on my hex. Wan is on ether 1. The lan is 192.168.88.0/24 on ether 2 and ether 3-5 are slaved to 2. The dhcp pool is (192.168.88.10-192.168.88.254). I setup the hotspot fine. Simple queue pointed at 12.168.88.0/24) with have pcq limiting set. How should I configure so ...

Re: Help before I kill myself.......QOS not working

Ok, I take that back you are a genious.  I spent probably 14 hours trying to figure this out.......the reason it didn't work the first time is I had the Lan is the DST in the camper queue which was just a stab to get it to work in previous attempt.  I took that out, disabled fast track and GTG. Than...

Help before I kill myself.......QOS not working

I have successfully launched two rb750's with simple pcq bandwidth limiting to 512k.  I now bought a hex and it is apparently a little different.  I have tried like hell using winbox and webfig to get this thing to work.....I suppose I have something simple wrong.  Please help.  I am trying to simpl...

Re: QOS equal bandwidth for all users

Thanks, you answered my next question before I got to it. When I went to save the above configuration, it wouldn't let me because the bursting was lower then max or something as you pointed out. I think I am gonna go with the 512k with the bursting. The reason is I want to have the same awful hambur...

Re: QOS equal bandwidth for all users

Thank you. Ok I had that as pointed out in the guide. However, I did not have the max limit in the last queue you mentioned. I had it in the first two queues. Thanks. That should do it. I operate a campground and the problem I am having is right now a few bad apples are streaming HD video and hoggin...

QOS equal bandwidth for all users

I successfully used this guide to set up bandwidth sharing for my network. http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Cable_setup This allows me to limit each user to a certain bandwidth. What I would like to do is share the available bandwidth equally. I am only able to program in winbox and it seems like it is...

Port forwarding router os 5.15 rb750

I bought the rb750 and am running 5.15. I am a complete newbie and have spent hours trying to accomplish this. I know someone here can do it in five seconds. Help before I have to shoot myself. Cable modem coming in, rb750 dhcp, and computer attached directly to it. No issues, works great. I just wa...
