Re: RB4011 and RB1100 AHx4 "bricks" randomly

Hi jebz
The problem you have is the device locks up!
So you can’t create a supout file!?
As you have no way of accessing the device to generate it!?
All you can do is power cycle the router and then generate a supout file but that’s not helpful as it’s then a working router in there eyes

Hi nje431

Out of curiosity, how do u power cycle them remotely?

We currently have one power port plugged into a ups and the other is plugged directly into the main power wall socket

If I could power cycle it remotely myself it would save so much time!?

only this one? Did this actually start with upgrade? Or was it present with previous ROS versions (but you did not notice it)? Obvious reason for that happening is CPU frequency way off what router thinks it should be (e.g. 20% slower than it should be). You can't see it only by observing timestamp...

Sometimes there are (tiny) discrepancies between (old) routerboot and modern ROS which are only resolved by upgrading routerboot to modern version (shipped with ROS itself), which has to be followed by reboot of device (sorry for that...

Re: api javascript help

The other possibilities are that the sentence was ok, but login was refused. The API user needs to have the "api" permission, the address property needs to be empty or otherwise allow for your IP... and needless to say your password must be correct. Try to login with another API client, a...

Re: api javascript help

The full thing that needs to go on the network after you get the challenge is ANOTHER /login (prefixed with its encoded length), followed by the response attribute word (prefixed with its encoded length), followed by a null byte (a.k.a. a zero length word). Are you sure you're sending all of this? ...

Just add another call to chrome.sockets.tcp.send that sends "message", or better yet, make a single call that sends "abc + message", rather than just "abc". chrome.sockets.tcp.send(createInfo.socketId, abc+"/login", function(send){ console.log('send'); }); Er...

Oh, so a mobile app, not a web app, I see. Well, in that case, it's limited to the device, so yeah, you could have it at JavaScript. I'd think you can use NodeJS client as a starting point, seeing that the core language APIs are almost the same. Just replace its sockets with the chrome sockets or w...

Re: api javascript help

You need to send both the length and the actual string which is that many bytes long. From your example, it seems you're sending just the length byte, but never the actual message. You don't get any reply, because RouterOS is still waiting for the bytes you told it to wait for. i.e. you send 0x06, ...

Re: ssl not working with nat

Hello and welcome. In my experience, odd SSL issues like this are really difficult to troubleshoot. However, I have seen, on more than 5 different routers, that the MTU can cause this. Make sure that you have a 1500 MTU on the whole network. Clients, switches, your router LAN/bridge, and your WAN. ...

Re: 2 pppoes, same isp, same gateway route

Route your gateway to the interface, no the IP. /ip route add dst-address=0.0.0.0/0 gateway=interface instead of /ip route add dst-address=0.0.0.0/0 gateway=1.1.1.1 The remote (gateway) IP address is then irrelavant, so doesn't matter if it's the same or not.
