how to set up private IP with dual WAN using netmap

I have dual WAN, both with a public IP. Second WAN is on standby until first WAN fails. Problem is that LAN-device is a SIP trunk that needs a static public IP address in its configuration table. Should be solvable with 1:1 NAT (netmap) to create a private IP but I need some help here. wan1public=18...

How to masquerade static WAN IP on RB750

I am using the router to hook up a SIP phone system on my LAN. I have dual WAN connections, but only one is active and the second WAN is just for failover. The Phone System needs to know its static IP, I am currently using the static IP provided to me by the provider of WAN1. However when the failov...

Re: RB750 how to use static IP

When I added the DNS like:
/ip dns
set allow-remote-requests=yes cache-max-ttl=1w cache-size=2048KiB \
max-udp-packet-size=512 servers=8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4

It all worked fine.

I guess when adding static IP's, you'll need to define the DNS server.
Thx for all your help.

Re: Failover with SIP trunk

Hi,

Thx so much. I like the reboot as that way I am 100% sure that it cleans out everything.

I added an auto-emailer already in almost the same way, this way I keep track of the connections.

The comment Primary needed to be added to the route list and not to the ethernet interfaces.

Regards, Gary

Re: Failover with SIP trunk

Thx a lot for this script! Question: Do I need to make more changes? 1. I changed my ip address to the fixed ip of the IP-provider (SHAW) In the scheduler, I added the sctipt and set it to run the script every minute. In the ethernet connections, for my SHAW connection (ether5), I need to add a comm...

Failover with SIP trunk

Hi, I am trying to get our Panasonic NCP1000 Phone system to work with a failover Internet connection. After many hours a Telco company told me it won't work because the SIP connection table needs to be flushed (clear out all connections) before the phonesystem will route all traffic over the second...

Re: RB750 not able to use static IP

I will try using port5 on Monday. However, I already tried so many settings. I reset to factory settings and then removed the default script, so all ports are renamed to ether1,ether2,ether3,ether4 adn ether5. Then I followed the guidelines on Mikrotik.com to set up your router: connected to winbox ...

RB750 not able to use static IP

Hi, I purchased a new RB750 router and tried to configure a dual WAN configuration without success. Now I discovered I cannot even connect a single WAN whenever I use a static IP. I think my RB750 has a defect and needs to be returned, unless I am overseeing something obvious. Please help me figure ...
