Ok here is what I had to do: Add IP 192.168.1.2/24 to the PUBLIC interface Network of 192.168.1.2 Broadcast of 192.168.1.255 The above added the route automatically, however my DSL modem does not have a Default Gateway entry in it so when I ping the DSL modem after adding the above the packets reach...

Access DSL Modem From Within The LAN

|---| DSL Modem 192.168.1.1 | | |---| Mikrotik 66.92.239.4 / 10.12.5.1 | | | |---| My PC 10.12.5.99 My DSL modem has an internal IP of 192.168.1.1 but the DSL modem is in bridge mode, so you cannot hit it from outside. Then I have my Mikrotik box that has an external IP of 66.92.239.4 and an interna...

From what I was told all traffic over this T1 will be using the SIP protocol. As far as the interface is concerned, I am not 100% sure, but I do know they will install some sort of box which will break out like 10 lines for our PBX and then have what I assume will be an ethernet interface for our Mi...

SIP T1 Compatibilty

Hey all, my company is replacing our SDSL with 2 SIP based T1's that are going to both be bonded and our data and voip will ride over them dynamically. So if no one is on any phone we will have 3/3 speed, if someone picks up a phone then our speed drops by 128k per call etc. Anyway, my question is t...

VRRP Issue

Hi, I have VRRP setup with 2 MT servers and everything is working great. I have about 6 WinXP workstations all using the virtual gateway IP for both their Gateway & DNS server and they work fine. However I have 2 windows 2003 servers that when I point them to the virtual IP for their Gateway &am...

Not to be mean or anything, but "Lastguru" you are of no help, why do you continue to post? All you ever do is redirect all questions to the documentation. Not that it is any of your business, but I have read the entire manual cover to cover several times. However not everyone is as gifted...

Guy,

Your DST-NAT rule does not make any sense to me... I thought DST-NAT was for requests coming in from outside my firewall and SRC-NAT was for request coming from inside my firewall. If my local client on my LAN hits a webpage, the DNS request is going to go through the SRC-NAT right?

DNS & Static IP's

Does anyone use static IP's on their network and have DNS working correctly? In v2.7 I was able to give my firewall an IP of say 192.168.0.1 then add my real DNS server IP's to my own firewall. Then for each client I would put the following: IP: 192.168.0.2 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.0.1...

Well the VRRP was so simple, the example in the documents provided by Mikrotik was excellent in this particular area. Its actually easier if you just follow their example than for me to explain it, I may confuse you :) However if you do run into a problem I will be here to help. As far as the DHCP g...

DHCP and VRRP

I have a question about using VRRP and DHCP on the Mikrotik Firewall. By the way I have version 2.8.11 on 2 different machines that are connected in a VRRP group. As far as the VRRP goes everything works fine when I unplug the master router, then the backup takes over. My real question is how should...
