Re: Newsletter #82 (May 2018)

For the CRS305-1G-4S+IN, it mentions "Support for high speed ring topology", can there be a little more said for that? Does it do something with TRILL like the IgniteNet MeshLinq switch? I'll second that. Would be nice to know if it supports something beyond (R)STP like for example Metro ...

Re: Feature request for v7.x

It would be great for RouterOS 7 to have: - IPSEC Virtual Tunnel Interfaces (Like Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet/Vyatta/Ubiquiti) [...] - Encrypt/IPSEC Policy action - VRF aware PPP - VRF aware services (WinBox, SSH, DNS) +1 for all of those and I may add: - Ability to create PPP interfaces in a specific V...

Re: CLOUD CORE ROUTER

I want to connect CCR CCR1036-12G-4S-EM with Cisco switch SG500 series via multimode fiber optic on SFP transceiver. Which is better to use :?: : 1. Both side with Mikrotik SFP module S-85DLC05D 2. Both side with Cisco SFP module MGBSX1 3. On CCR side using Mikrotik SFP module S-85DLC05D & on C...

Re: CLOUD CORE ROUTER

This is not true, sorry! The Tilera platform used by MikroTik to build the CCR series is owning one or two units if the high speed encryption engine so called "MiCA" (at this point I want say tank you MikroTik for choosing this variant) and this MiCA is taking any data out directly from t...

Re: CLOUD CORE ROUTER

Could you help me with SSL offload? I plans install http reverse prosy for SSL offload (I know, Tilera CPU supports it on very big speeds) on CCR with Router OS. This is an interesting question. The Tilera CPU supports key-exchange (RSA, etc.) acceleration, which is the most expensive part of a SSL...

Re: Problems with MPLS IPv4 VPN

Thanks for your reply. I'm already at 6.9, however I'll give it a try and post my results here. Okay, my conclusion so far: don't try to run L3VPN and a full IPv4 BGP table on the same box. The routing process is unable to keep up with everything, maybe unless you take some top-end Xeon box, put it...

Re: Routing Engine Multicore for BGP

+1 Waiting for the "new routing engine". Full BPG table loading time is hardly acceptable, not what you'd expect from that much CPU power. And finding routes ("/ip route print where ...") takes way too much time on a full table. Please, MT, give us at least /some/ information, so...

Re: Problems with MPLS IPv4 VPN

Hi crtee, I can say they are stable on 6.5 as that is what we have running in production. Any newer version YMMV. [...] Given the recent dramas with RouterOS stability I am scared to even attempt an upgrade past 6.5 for fear that it will break something. Thanks for your reply. I'm already at 6.9, h...

Re: Problems with MPLS IPv4 VPN

Hi there,

sorry to bring this up again, haven't been in touch with this recently, but are L3VPNs really safe so far? Are there still any known stability problems or did they finally manage to fix it?

Re: Routerboard Hardware wish list

So I'll guess I drop in here, reactivate this old thread and post my wish list: Something like a CCR with - 2x10GE SFP and more than 8xSFP GE (Tilera's TILE-Gx8072 has 8x10GE XAUI for example - that would mean 2x10GE and 24GE!) - Copper in MAN services is definitely a dead end. I don't want to mess ...

6.7 -> 6.9 breaks LACP for me on CCR1036, anyone else?

Re: CLOUD CORE ROUTER

Suffering from the same problem as mishaM and Jetrider here, already posted about a similar effect on the RouterOS 6.1 thread here . Shouldn't have been so optimistic, about two days after this post this bug hit me at 1:00am in the morning :-/. Replacing the unit with a RB1100AHx2 resolved the issue...

Re: RouterOS 6.1 released

Don't fix what ain't broken. If you are happy and nothing is missing, stay with what you have. That's one of the lessons you learn the hard way  Anyways - for me, 6.0rc13 on CCR is quite rock-solid at the moment. No problems so far, but in every newer version (6.0rc14-6.1) I've got a strange i...
