Re: My 3rd bricked RB751U-2HnD out of 5, lots of flashing li

Same problem: SN 45E4026*****/317 Mine sat on a shelf for over a year (as a backup) and now I appear to be SOL. I run the RB751G no issues for the past 2 years... so I wil continue to use MTK, just sucks that my "new" backup router was defective. I should have tested it and then shelved it...

After reboot it was running fine until I decided to change the wireless configuration... now ...

Re: PPTP/DNS Resolution Times out

I resolved this issue by hosting the DNS on the router and specifying the router IP in DHCP as the (ONLY/SINGLE) DNS Server. I also had to: 1. IP - DHCP Client - Edit Client (double click) - Uncheck Use Peer DNS 2. IP - DNS - Servers/Add: 192.168.1.55, 192.168.1.54, 8.8.8.8. 8.8.4.4 This is the only...

Re: Failover with SIP trunk

Thx a lot for this script! Question: Do I need to make more changes? 1. I changed my ip address to the fixed ip of the IP-provider (SHAW) In the scheduler, I added the sctipt and set it to run the script every minute. In the ethernet connections, for my SHAW connection (ether5), I need to add a com...

Re: Failover with SIP trunk

This is how we do failover on our Mikrotik routers... we had an in house person write it and it works well. (thanks Andrew!) You will need to edit this to fit your upstream Gateway IP [replace xx.xx.xx.xx with your primary ISP gateway] and change the comment to whatever your label is on the default ...

I have 4 Mikrotik routers and love them all very much. (we also use them on all of our WIS towers) Routers in the mix... 1. Corp (5.21) Main Router 2. Hotel (5.21) VPN is secured and used for staff only! 3. Branch Office (5.21) (less than 5 Users) 4. Home (6.04rc5) (used by me to do some admin work ...
