Draytek Vigor 130 DSL modem - any alternatives for VDSL and PPPoA passthrough?

I've spent Thursday, Friday and most of this morning on the phone looking for a Draytek Vigor 130 VDSL modem. We recently upgraded our speed in rural Oregon...CenturyLink ran fiber to our neighborhood DSLAM...and no mention was made that they were going to be using VDSL. So my two year old Vigor 120...

Draytec Vigor 120 and PPPOE

After reading the forums I finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase a Draytec Vigor 120 DSL modem. I want the PPPOE client on the RB2011 so I can port forward from the ISP's IP address and so I don't have two traverse two NATs. No issues getting the DSL portion working - set the VCI to 32 (Ce...

Re: RouterBoard as Barcode scanner

So I'm assuming you'd hook up the bar code scanner to either the USB port or the serial port. Someone would need to write a driver. Someone would need to write a module that either encapsulated the data into TCP and sent it to a destination address...and again someone would have to write another pro...

Why don't you start at the beginning an let us know what you're trying to accomplish? I get the impression you are trying to set up a point to point link between two networks? Do the networks have different subnets - IP addresses? Distance? What antennas are you planning on using? What are you using...

Yup - that helps.

Try changing your channel width to just 20 MHz.

You've got a good signal to the AP - interesting that the TX rate is only 11 Mbps.

Re: Some questions about mikrotik sxt/sextant

From the looks of your IP addressing I would imagine your subnetting is going to be your biggest limitation - not RAM or processing power.

I've seen 4 series Mikrotiks handle up to 80 hotspot users with an external RADIUS server with no issues.

Actually you don't need a Routerboard to run RouterOS. You can run it on regular PC hardware. http://www.mikrotik.com/pdf/what_is_routeros.pdf Page 16 of that PDF explains the different levels of ROS you can purchase. Many of the routerboards come with certain levels of licenses. In terms of model n...

Couple of things...first, since you upgraded the ROS you probably need to upgrade the firmware. Open a terminal window. Type in system routerboard print. If the numbers don't match then type in system routerboard upgrade and reboot (system reboot). Second - open WinBox, log into your router and open...

Sticking with 100 meters. Honestly with a golf course you'd probably be fine with APs at tees and holes...and since most of those are back to back. Fairways will be fine with marginal coverage. I would use 90 degree sector antennas to push as much power as you can. Post a picture of the course map. ...

What about a 750UP powering three SXTs instead of the omni? The SXT to SXT links at that distance should be right around 54 mb. Three of them will not saturate a fast ethernet link from the roof to the equipment in your building.
