Re: New container project: "mikrotik.upgrade.server" / "mus"

You are damned right - that's the reason why I wanted to create a container, which is nearly self-configurable like the MUS project. Just setup the Mikrotik-things for running a container, load the image and voilá you are (nearly) done. I suppose it will be a nightmare when this kind of configuratio...

Re: New container project: "mikrotik.upgrade.server" / "mus"

Well, first of all thanks for your credits you gave me. I really appreciate them 8=) So now for some "hard" stuff: Running some sort of process that depends on cgroups (regardless of v1 or v2) will not run at all. But this is not because of the structure of the builded containers - it is b...

Re: New container project: "mikrotik.upgrade.server" / "mus"

Well, you are damned right - I break the one-process-one-container rule. But this is intended in this situation. Because of the fairly small size of the images, and therefore the minimal use of the disk on the mikrotik device, this is no problem at all. Breaking the "golden rule" is intend...

Re: New container project: "mikrotik.upgrade.server" / "mus"

Well, you are right - perhaps someone could setup another mirror there. I am using the mirror for default, so I put it in there. On the other hand, this container is expandable while running. So I am created a alpine-line-openrc_minimal-container, which could be used for anything you want (and ros-c...

Re: PiHole Docker container simply refuses to run on a MikroTik RB3011UiAS (RouterOS 7.13.3)

Hi everyone, well in the screenshot you posted, please look at the last lines, the filesystem. Normally all content of a container-filesystem (container-store) may not be visible. It is only stated out as a single "container-store" entry. Several times I saw that the container "breaks...

Re: Containers wont start on RB3011 UiAS Topic is solved

Hello everyone, First of all, please check if the usb-drive is "ext4" and NOT using a "MBR" partition table (during formatting). Sometimes ros is a little beasty with the handling of disks. When I was about to extend my disk (on CHR) I got really mad on doing that (several reboot...

Re: New container project: "mikrotik.upgrade.server" / "mus"

Well, this project and the regarding container-images run on most mikrotik-installations. I use it mainly on a CHR-system, because this gives more cpu-power, a lot of ram- and disk-memory. Also you could install it on a portainer setup with no modifications: https://www.portainer.io/ Perhaps my alp_...

Re: Horrible container performance from 7.14 up to 7.15rc2

Well, I saw this issue already, thanks. The worst case is that USB2 / USB3 is mapped to a different slot. That means if you installed on USB3/slot, switching to USB2 gives no access then to your container. Using my container-image I just finished downloads on a "normal"-disk-installation i...

Re: Horrible container performance from 7.14 up to 7.15rc2

Hi everyone, perhaps it might be a storage problem ? I discovered that using a "normal" USB3-Memory-Stick in a RB5009 slows down the performance massive. When running my project in a chr-environment it is very much faster. USB-Devices have mainly only 1 (or 2) read/write-threads at the sam...

New container project: "mikrotik.upgrade.server" / "mus"

Hello everyone, I just completed a new container-project for Mikrotik-routeros-based devices. The project's aim is to have all packages needed for updates/upgrade locally without installing a separate server in the network environment. Perhaps this one is useful for someone. I use this regularly fro...

Re: v7.11, 7.11.1 and more [stable] are released!

Hello everyone, well, update run well - but I got massive problems with VLAN's and bridging. VLAN on my main network 192.168.xxx.0/24 run fine, but the other VLANs made massive problems. It looks like that a port delegated to a special VLAN and set to HW-offload the VLAN-tag, did not remove the tag ...

Re: Winbox 3.11 released!

Hi,

thank you for your kind response. Well, DNS-resolver is working fine
and accessing via IP is also possible without any error.

So I agree to your doubts about winbox 8=)

Perhaps this could me crosschecked by mikrotik ?

Thanks.......Detlef

Re: Winbox 3.11 released!

Hi everyone,

I tried winbox 3.11 with remote access to a "new" domain, ending with toplevel com.de (sub.domain.com.de).

Well, no connection possible this try. Perhaps winbox 3.11 isn´t able to handle such domains (com.de-ending) ?

Hi everyone, anybody here who has problems with CAPsMAN in v6.38.5 ? When adding new interfaces in CAPsMAN, there is a "zero"-mac entry. Or perhaps I am some kind of faulty in configuring ? When adding a new Caps-Interface the MAC (not the radio-MAC) was added correctly (not only "0&q...

Re: v6.34 [current] is released!

What is the actual problem with sorting? We fixed Winbox and DHCP leases. Big part of information was not shown for static entries. Now you can see it. Please send to support@mikrotik.com screen shots where we could see correct and incorrect behaviour. I suppose the old behaviour is fixed in mind, ...

There is something wrong in 6.33.6 and 6.34 relating secondary column sorting in WinBox, both 3.0 and 3.1. Did someone got openVPN-Server running in conjunction with PPPoE-Client ?
