Re: LTE based internet and WiFi network at home

Hoi

Mikrotik has hinted at a mesh product, but it hasn't been released/offered yet.
You could do it on your own (with some multi radio devices), but I wouldn't recommend it.
So what WOULD you recommend then? [emoji16]

LTE based internet and WiFi network at home

Hi all, I'm renting a house and am quite limited in alterations. So sadly running cables through the house are out of question. My internet is LTE based and I have an external LTE modem router (ZTE WF830) provisioned by my provider. Here are my two questions: 1. What would you recommend to build a r...

Re: Best LTE Router (based on your experience)

few days ago my customer have very interesting order. He has LTE sim card and have one cisco 2960G. For this setup i used rb912UAG-5HPnD. And then i made on ethernet port vlans/firewall. Best LTE Router (based on your experience)

Hi all, I'm looking for the best (based on your experience) LTE router that can be connected to hAP AC (RB962) to keep a persistent internet connection . I know it is very subjective so I would appreciate a few words to support your claim. I am looking for answers based on personal experience . Also...

Re: Assign Static IPs in RB3011 to four RB952 serving as access points

:) Yes thats the one, you can see above that it has chosen a mac address of one of the interfaces assigned to the bridge. If you take the mac address it is currently using, which starts 6C and make it start 6E instead then you will have set a special private admin mac which will be unique and won't...

Re: Assign Static IPs in RB3011 to four RB952 serving as access points

So the answer is, set an admin mac on the bridge.
Nick, Thanks a lot for your response. Now would you be so kind and "Explain like I'm 5" this to me? What is an Admin MAC? Are you talking about this one?

[SOLVED] Assign Static IPs in RB3011 to four RB952 serving as access points

Hi, I have the following setup: RB3011 as the main router / DHCP server 4 RB952 configured as simple APs running in Bridge mode to serve each floor. On the RB3011 I have assigned static IPs to all 4 APs (DHCP Leases -> make static) however I must've done something wrong. Oftentimes on restart differ...

Home wired/wireless network with one central CRS125 + Multiple hAP ac lite

Hello Experts. I plan on building a home network using one central router and multiple switches/access points. I was thinking about using: CRS125-24G-1S-RM (henceforth CRS125) RB952Ui-5ac2nD (henceforth hAP ac Lite) as access points/switches The idea was to have the CRS125 in a rack in my basements ...

Re: Hybrid Wired/Wireless network at home - an Idiot's Guide

Your plans seem smart to me. I have a 2011 on DSL with many public IP's. Then I also have a 750GL on Cable. For wireless, I use a 951 as an access point to the 750GL. Also, I connect the 2011 and 750GL with a so called 'backbone' cable and enjoy one LAN. Don't have failover working because the DSL ...

Re: Hybrid Wired/Wireless network at home - an Idiot's Guide

It's easily reachable. Just think about using dual chain devices. Setting is simple: put all interfaces into bridge and set DHCP client for the bridge. Set each wifi to different channel with same ssid. Hi jarda, can you provide a guide for routeros-dummies? I was thinking about something in terms ...

Re: Hybrid Wired/Wireless network at home - an Idiot's Guide

And what is now the question or the problem? I was not seeing only one problem in your case! 1) Are my requirements reasonable or am I going for something impossible? How many clients must be served or should be connected to this network? How many and what kind of traffic is running through this ne...

Re: Hybrid Wired/Wireless network at home - an Idiot's Guide

I do this with a combination of a Mikrotik (RB450G) and UBNT Unifi's. I don't have any experience with Mikrotik and wireless stuff but I guess it can be done as well. Tell me about those UBNT Unifi's. Can you answer the following questions? 1) How easy is the management? How do I manage them? Web G...

Hybrid Wired/Wireless network at home - an Idiot's Guide

Automatically forward Traffic to Netflix/Hulu via OVPN

Hi Gurus, the question must have been asked a thousand times, so if one can point me in the right direction, I would be grateful. Here we go... I am planing to purchase a MikroTik Router to harness its VPN awesomness (among other things). What I would like to do is automatically route entire network...
