Re: Update License Key->"failed: could not resolve www.mikro

That just got me too!

I was running winbox inside 'wine' on Linux - I couldn't figure out why the DNS didn't work until I read this post.

Re: Setting up a simple WEP Client

Hi - thanks for your reply! :)

I'm not near my routerboard at the moment, so I can't try it out until a bit later.

I read somewhere that it was not possible to bridge eth0 to wlan when the wlan is in "station" mode?

I'm not sure if I understand this properly. Any ideas?

Re: Setting up a simple WEP Client

I appears that a bridge cannot be set up between eth0 and wlan 1 due to routeros limitations. How do I get round this, or how do I set it up with a different network then? So what I wanted was: 192.168.1.1---- AP> ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ <WLAN1 192.168.1.13 - ETH0>- 192.168.1.20 It looks like I'll have to go fo...

Setting up a simple WEP Client

How do I set up a simple WEP Client using Mikrotik? We have an access point (with DHCP server) on 192.168.1.2 (with gateway at 192.168.1.1). I'd like to set up a simple WEP client using a routerboard running Mikrotik 2.9.26. So far, I've assigned an IP address to Eth0 and to Wlan1 (both on the 192....

Re: PPPoE Server - Not Responding

I'm not sure if I can help you at all, but I can throw in a few ideas. I saw your post was unanswered. Could it be a temperature issue - is something overheating? Is this on a Routerboard, or is it PC based? If you are using a flashdrive, is this getting corrupted at all? (when you reboot a Routerbo...

.... so now I've disabled the wireless card in the Windows XP machine and plugged into the Ethernet port a Wirless Client box, set up for the "mt" - and the PPPoE connection is now connected :) (but without the DNS server set up I can't do much yet :? - but that's another problem). So is i...

By the way, using EtherReal on the Windows XP machine, I can see that the MikroTik and XP are trying to negotiate a PPPoE link: PPPoED Active Discovery Initiation (PADI) PPPoED Active Discovery Offer (PADO) PPPoED Active Discovery Request (PADR) PPPoED Active Discovery Request (PADR) PPPoED Active D...

How to setup PPPOE?

Hiya, I've read the MikroTik documentation on setting up PPPOE and followed the "Application Example" - the only differences are that, "interface prism>" is now "interface wireless>" . I started from a "clean slate" by doing /system reset I'm running on Router...

Radius HOWTO wanted

Althought the documentation on Radius support is very good, it would be very useful to give more "step-by-step" instruction on setting up FreeRadius with Mikrotik.

The documentation also does not give a clear practical guide on how to use Radius for Hotspot Authentication.

HotSpot Setup Howto This little guide takes you through a step-by-step approach to setting up a simple hotspot using the excellent MikroTik RouterOS software. Some detail and explanations are left out to keep things clearer. This guide assumes that you have installed RouterOS v2.8.7 and upwards. [a...
