Re: Speed Limit per connection over EoIP Tunnel

Do you think changing from EoIP to MPLS (or other type of VPN) would make a difference?

I mean, it shouldn't, but I have no idea what is going on....

Re: Speed Limit per connection over EoIP Tunnel

are you running any simple queues or queue trees.
No, only some firewall rules, but removing them makes no difference...

Any idea?

Speed Limit per connection over EoIP Tunnel

Hi guys, I have made a EoIP Tunnel for a costumer with speed limit of 20Mbps (I own a WISP and the tunnel is through my network). The strange thing is that each conenction (for example FTP or a backup program he uses) does not get over 3 or 4 Mbps per connection. Running several parallel connections...

Re: Question regarding: Routing -> OSPF -> Networks

Hi, I was thinking about a problem I could have migrating from bridge to OSPF... please take a look at the topology example I posted in my original post. All those POPs have Mikrotik Routerboards, where I will apply OSPF. But they currently have all ports attached to a bridge (because currently my n...

Re: Question regarding: Routing -> OSPF -> Networks

Using the exact mask length will work and using an aggregate will work. However, it's considered a best practice to only allow the specific mask you need advertised to keep from trying to form neighbors on a misconfigured interface, or advertising a subnet inadvertently. Thanks! So I will configure...

Question regarding: Routing -> OSPF -> Networks

Hello, I work at a WISP and I am routing the network that is currently in bridge mode. I have available a /22 network and I managed to aggregate each POP with appropiate network size using best pratices. Each POP have the required network size, like /25, /26, etc depending on quantity of costumers a...

Re: V6 - Simple Queues on bridged interfaces

Try to: /interface bridge settings set use-ip-firewall=yes Hi... Now it kind of works... a couple of queues are working alright while the others still doesn't work. Only queues number 1 and number 12 are working... but all queues have similar rules. The only thing that is different are IP addresses...

Re: V6 - Simple Queues on bridged interfaces

Did you configured the device starting from default standard config or from zero-config ? Provide output for command: /interface ethernet export I started from zero config. That command only shows this config: [admin@CAPUAVA1] > /interface ethernet export # sep/08/2015 09:29:38 by RouterOS 6.29.1 #...

Re: V6 - Simple Queues on bridged interfaces

Ports are bridged or switched on rb2011? If they are switched you can not shape traffic because switch chip is handling traffic ..not cpu/ros All ports are on the same bridge. I am not using switch. EDIT All I have configured on the RB2011 is: One IP address on eth1 for remote access One bridge wit...

Re: New Mikrotik Config

rg2 - my interfaces/ports have both the switch and master port fields under the GENERAL tab. If I choose a master port, it does nothing to change the value of the "switch" field The switch field never changes. It shows you on what physical switch chip that ethernet port is connected to. S...

Re: New Mikrotik Config

Just to add to that - When editing an interface, I am unable to edit the "switch" field. It's greyed out and is set to "switch1" You don't edit the "switch" itself, you select a "Master Port". If it is part of a switch, select the master port. If you want to ...

V6 - Simple Queues on bridged interfaces

Hi! I work on a WISP that currently have the entire wireless network on bridge mode. So I am installing a RB2011 on each POP, so I can later route the entire network using OSPF. To be able to route, I will have to change the IP address of every costumer because currently the addresses are distribute...

Re: New VRRP implementation

I understand that OSPF is a better way to achieve redundancy, and I thank you for sharing your opinion.

But I would like to test both methods in lab, so I want to know if someone can answermy question about VRRP implementation.

Thanks!

Re: New VRRP implementation

Possible, you have to add a VRRP address on Junipers and RouterOS. But why don't you do OSPF too there? I didn't think about OSPF because the "OSPF Area" in my diagram is my wireless network (ISP), and my routers are physically on another city on a data center. I buy the (redundant) conne...

New VRRP implementation

Hello guys, I will for the first time use VRRP for router redundancy and I have some questions. My current configuration is very simple: http://s4.postimg.org/9rd5t2mbh/vrrp1.png And this is what I am aiming for: http://s4.postimg.org/iawjqtunx/vrrp2.png I am thinking about using VRRP so both Junipe...

OSPF v2 or v3 and RouterOS recommendation.

Hello, I am rebuilding my entire network from scratch. Apart from Juniper Router on my network edge, all my routers are mikrotik. I'll use OSPF for IPV4 and IPV6. My questions are: 1. Do you recommend using OSPFv2 for IPV4 and OSPFv3 for IPV6 or should I use OSPFv3 for both IPV4 and IPV6 on same ins...

Re: License Purchase

Does that mean that while I can have 500 PPPoE users, only 50 of them can be active at a time? (on license level 5).

Thanks.

Re: License Purchase

Hi cbrown, Thanks for the reply. Well, I am not worried about reaching 500 PPPoE authentications (level 5). If I ever reach that number, it would take years. My question is what means "user manager active sessions"? What is the 50 connections limitation? 50 "admin" accounts? Than...

License Purchase

Hi, I work at a ISP and I am changing my 1100 Routerboards for x86 servers. I use PPPoE authentication, I have about 200 clients. I am not sure wich license version I should buy, because I am in doubt about the "User manager active sessions" limitations. What does that mean? What license d...
