Re: SwOS version 2.9 released!

Upgraded about 4 of our RB260 series switches (2 of each) to this code.
The ACL page will not SAVE any changes.
Random bandwidth.
Reverting back to 2.8 code.
I do not recommend upgrading to 2.9.

BGP Lab - ISP configuration

I am working to build a BGP lab from 6 Router board RB2011ils-in and 1 360GSP switches. I want to be able to have something that both myself and my fellow engineers can play with to assist us in understanding the protocols. So, I am posting on this forum for your assistance in the configuration of t...

Re: SIP on PBX occasionally ceases to be able to register

With the last two updates my Grandstream system and phones has been having issues too. I just turned off my SIP ALG/Helper and there was no change either. I found out that if I do not connect the phones directly to the MikroTik router like another switch they register better, but calls fail through ...

Re: Firewall ICMP Rule

Maybe this should be for another thread, but I just wanted to drop a quick note. While testing the IPv6 firewall rules out, I stumbled onto a verification of sorts. Fully disabled IPv4 on 3 of my test machines and the RB750GL i am using is automatically 6to4 so that the IPv4 computers can PING from ...

RB750GL and CAPSMAN do not work well together

Ok so I have a client that has a RB750GL and he wants to enable wifi roaming. So when I enable CAPSMAN on the RB750GL I start getting the following issues: - Router randomly reboots. - CAPs sync bit stop broadcasting their ssid even if specifically configured not to hide in the 750 config or the AP ...

Re: AW: Firewall ICMP Rule

There is an RFC for that out there, BTW. Because if you block some of that stuff, v6 will stop working at all. Here's my working ruleset for v6, it pretty much implements said rfc: /ipv6 firewall address-list add address=fe80::/64 list=link-local /ipv6 firewall filter add chain=establishedaccept co...

Re: Spanning Tree - Dispute state on Cisco Gear

FYI - No update even with the latest software from the MT Support team. We have turned on STP and are placing routed ports toward the MT. Yes I have tested with MSTP but have the same failure and more issues. We have moved to the 5 port RB Switches which have none of these issues. but if you need mo...

Re: Firewall ICMP Rule

I know I'm a bit late to this conversation, but I started playing with IPv6 on my MT lab. I really don't want to leave a input chain open for ALL ICMP, but the MT code is not really working right for IPv6. Or at lease I haven't found the right balance. Take a read from SANS: https://www.sans.org/rea...

Just to throw out an update: Cisco said that here is no way to turn off their RSTP/STP enhancements and it is something they are moving full force with on all new IOS updates. That said, I diverted to a hardware switching process instead of the software process. Reference: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/w...

Re: Spanning Tree - Dispute state on Cisco Gear

Update: Well in the heat of my exasperation, I disabled RSTP and got stable connectivity. NOTE: I know I did not have a loop. There were no adverse affects. I enabled STP not RSTP just regular old STP and it worked. The Cisco 6509 showed/complained about the use of the older protocol, but it worked....

Little or no support from MikroTik support and the forums are almost dead, that leaves me little option left. Ple...
